Well ****. So maybe I need to send my Être order to the east coast to be safe?

Thanks for the info. I sent Kurt an email just to see what's up.

I'm still pretty surprised at a box going from Belgium to anywhere in the US would go through LAX, but especially something bound for Chicago.
Good luck. I sent multiple emails over a period of roughly 3 weeks with no response till I finally opened PayPal disputes on all the transactions. Guess what, he responded in less than 24 hours and refunded all my money. I guess he can read emails.

Anyway that was my experience and I won't be ordering anything from BIAB ever again. His take on customer service is different than mine. And that's fine of course. Not to say Kurt is a bad guy, again this was just my experience

I just did my first Biab order and got it sent through Chicago. It took approximately 2 weeks to ship and I got no tracking URL from Kurt since he said it had shipped. I sent an email to him asking for the tracking number but no response. But then the box showed up several days later.

Well, that's less than consoling.

For any east coasters wondering, mine usually come through Jamaica, NY, get stuck there for about 5 days, and then I get an update about a day before delivery. I've had experiences between 6 days, and 3 weeks as far as shipping time from EU.

Have a box sitting in customs for a month from Chicago now. Total mess. Wrong last name, wrong tracking number, wrong you name it. Was an express USPS box. 7 days?? Bordering on a month.
Have had to call Post and customs several times now. Paid the excise on the box a week ago and still no joy.
Maybe the coconut on the BCS Prop will still be around once I get it.

Anyone in CA get trade boxes lately? I am trying to decide whether to have a box here or to my sister in VT for eventual re-shipping.

I received a box promptly from Etre pretty recently but I am worries that was an outlier given how many boxes have gotten rejected lately by LAX.

Colorado TBers - where have your Belgium boxes come through customs?

Well ****. So maybe I need to send my Être order to the east coast to be safe?

So I emailed back and forth with Jonathan a couple weeks ago and explained that I'd like to ship my box to an east coast buddy and would have my buddy ship it to me to avoid LAX customs. I told him I'd rather spend $40 on domestic shipping from the east coast rather than potentially having to pay to re-ship from Belgium (or have my box indefinitely held at customs).

Jonathan agreed that was a good idea, and said that would be no problem. I sent him the east coast address and even added a note when I paid my shipping invoice via PayPal.

Yesterday I received a shipping/tracking email from Etre, and it's being shipped to Colorado :( So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. I emailed Etre and explained the problem, and I got an email back from them right away apologizing for the mistake. They said if the box gets returned to them by LAX customs, they will re-ship it to me at no cost. A mistake on their part and a potentially bad situation is still leaving me with a great impression of Etre. I'll remain a loyal customer :)

Okay LAX customs....you've held/rejected enough ******* lambic. Let this one through!!!

Had Etre send this box to @mjpotter (**** you for changing your name to SwoldierBoiTellEm) and told him to pick out a bottle. The ******* then stuffed the two slots with beer to send to me. Got it today!! Thanks Mark! You really didn't need to send me more beer.

Mine just cleared US customs going back to Belgium.

At least I didn't lose my 'Boos. Next up, shipping my box to the east coast or great lakes area.

As another data point, it looks my current box made it through Chicago customs and may get delivered today which will make it a 7 day delivery from BiaB. Hoping everything made it considering what some of these recent boxes have looked liked.

i'm in the process of getting a box proxy'd to the uk then sent to me here, the guy mentioned that hes close to a service called royal mail which ships to the states. has anyone had experience getting boxes from that company? just want to avoid any possible issues with customs but FWIW i am on the east coast.

if this falls through i'm gonna have to find someone else in EU that can assist me with this box

Isn't Royal Mail the UK postal service? Your package will come through USPS once it hits the states.
