Wow... really makes you think about life 150 years ago, huh? To think that such pics would be common place... just subtract a few high rises and add a few horses and carriages.

Photo essays ROCK!!!

Back in 1988 I did a photo essay of the living conditions in Denver. I took pictures of mansions with moats around them, homeless people under the bridges and everything in between. It was a really cool project. I would love to see those pictures now (almost 20 years later) and compare each of those places to what they are now. For one, the viaducts are all gone and the dark, dingy, scary scene that used to be there is now the ever popular LoDo. Personally, I liked it better before. Oh well, commercialism. I'll lift one up to memories...

I used to frequent a tiny hang out on 18th and Wynkoop called Surfs. On Thursday nights they would have a 20 piece Jazz orchestra play. It was just a donation to get in. The menu was all hand crafted by the owner's wife. The most expensive item was $3.85 and came on two plates and it was very tasty!

Here's to the good old Mom and Pop shops that are no more... bottoms up!

Going without power would suck, but me and Mr. Honda will make sure that the brew is protected. Who cares what's in the fridge in the kitchen. The Kolsch temp must be maintained in the Texas heat!
