Ink bird ITC-308 stupid question

Hey guys and gals, I'm running the ITC-308 temp controller on my keezer/ferm chamber combo (I can't wait to close on a house so I can get some new equipment!). Anyway, does anyone on here know if the entire temp probe is fully submersible?

I've been taping the probe to the outside of my kegs/fermentor but I feel like that isn't very effective because the compressor kicks on several times an hour for some reason. I have enough room I could just use a gallon jug of water but I don't want to fry the unit obviously. Sorry for the rambling and thanks for the insight!

ps: If you do not apply a good insulator over a strapped probe it's basically just an air probe. I use 1" thick closed cell foam pads over my temperature probes. My keezer compressor turns on four times a day (for ~50 minutes per cycle)...

What is your cooling definition set at?
Default is 3 degrees. If set too low, can cause rapid cycling. A small fan may help circulate air and stablize temperature and reduce the frequency of the compressor cycling.

Q: Can the sensor be submerssed in water? I want to use this in an aquarium with a heater pugged in.

A: Yes, of course. Many customer use it in aquarium

I've been using a sponge to insulate my probe.

No pun intended.

For my keezer I have the probe in a gallon jug of water. Changing the probe every time you move kegs gets old, and you have to keep it near the bottom. For the fermentation chamber though, taping the probe to the side, or a thermowell is what you want. When fermenting, you want to control the wort temp, not a secondary liquid. Either way, your compressor shouldn't be kicking on very often.
