There's a nice little taproom not too far from me, and the first time I was there I had a great time chatting about all kinds of beery topics with the proprietor. He's a very nice guy, even showed me his recipe book and encouraged me to take notes or photos. He also invited me to bring in some homebrew next time I came by.

I've actually never done anything like that, and only family and a few friends have ever had my brews. But why not try, right? I finally made it back over last week and brought a bottle of porter and a pale ale. The proprietor said they were "flawless" and invited me to come brew on his gear, and be on tap in his establishment. "Now, there's no money in it," he laughed. I think his intent is to do a batch on the half barrel pilot system at first. After that, who knows.

I'm not the first homebrewer to get such an invitation there, but that's OK. It has been a long road to making beer that I feel is good enough to share, and getting a compliment like that was really cool.

All y'all get some of the credit too. I probably wouldn't be making beer at all, definitely not good beer, without the great discussions here. Happy holidays, y'all. :mug:

It is a small place and I think my guest brew would be a one time deal, on the small pilot system, but I am sure it's gonna be a gas! Mostly I am happy about getting validation that the beer is good. We are our own worst critics, right?

If you want to brew for him for free, go for it. Who's buying the ingredients?
Hopefully you'll learn something and get more feedback.

I’m sure you’re right you shouldn’t have to buy anything. Just supply the recipe and hang out and brew. they can’t pay you they may give you some beer or maybe lunch. I did it once and it was awesome

Crongrats, surely it feels like you could walk on air getting that kind of feedback on your brew. Have fun, maybe if the patrons like it it will be brewed on his big system, you'll get some credit, maybe not money, but some kudos.

I would jump at the opportunity.
It may lead to something or not, but it will be a rare experience. Invite your friends when the beer is on tap. Take pictures, be proud.
