This is our 9th anniversary. Finally found the perfect SWMBO for me.
This girl was my grocery clerk. After 2 years of flirting we had our first date, that was 2003. In 2006 we got married on her home land island of GUAM USA. She truly makes me happier then I have ever been..View attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1434527106.840932.jpgView attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1434527119.465173.jpgView attachment ImageUploadedByHome Brew1434527134.085483.jpg
And that is a sunset on Guam. Very beautiful place.....

Congrats! We just celebrated our first wedding anniversary this year, and our sixth year of living our lives together. There is nothing better than knowing you have found someone to spend the rest of your life with.

Congrates !

but marriage ain't nuttin until you get into Double Digits !;)

Most of us that are married come to realize how lucky we are !

We will be at 15 years this September

Mine get me into brewing, gave me the brew kit for X-mas 2002

Speaking of dates you can remember......i will be married to the love of my life for 45 years on July 4. I can still remember driving to the honeymoon spot in the Pocono's and seeing the fireworks in small communities along I-80. ( and just to be sure that I didn't forget, she had the date engraved on the inside of my wedding ring, which is still on my left hand )

Thanks everyone and congrats to all who have a successful relationship. Nothing more satisfying then wanting to go home after a hard day at work and be with the one you love.....

You're right about that. My girlfriend and I are on opposite shifts, so it definitely sucks during the week.

My wife and I did opposite shifts for several years and that made sure we were always happy to see each other and spend time together when we could.
20 years last October and I wouldn't trade for anything.

Congrats on your 15 years but I have to disagree that a great relationship only matters after "double digits" I applaud all those who have ever lasting love but I know of to many who stay together "just because". Doesn't take more then 10 years to know if it's right or wrong. Collectively I've been married 22 years to 3 different women. Lost the first one to Lupus, second one just was crazy and now I know how lucky I am to have it right for me in less the 10 years...

Congrats on your 20 years, I can't wait until I can say 20 years. Absence truly does make the heart grow fonder as me and my wife struggle to spend time between our own crazy shifts....

Ok, have to agree with you on that one. First wife was/is batsh!t crazy. She is the poster child for conceal carry laws to be changed from worrying about someone having a non-violent felony at one month after they are 18 (stupidity of leaving home, other side of country, nearly 10 years ago, model citizen since), to mandatory evaluation of ones mental state prior to granting said license. Sorry :off: for a second, but point being, she didn't show crazy til we had been together 20 years. Or I was just blind/stupid/insert similar adjective here. But only took me about a year after crazy showed up full time that I said na-baby-na, not doin it.

Now I am with the one I WILL spend my last breath with, even though we are only on year 9, and I knew it six months after I met her.

That is so awesome, wish I could live long enough to say the same thing. I do remember the 19hr. nerve racking flight to Guam to meet her family for the first time. I am the first non-native married into the family, it was quit an experience when 200 family members came to the BBQ on the beach to meet me....

Congrats man. Meeting the family was one of the worst things about dating, especially families from a different culture. I thought I had it bad being a Yankee meeting a southern family, but I think you win ;)

Thankfully she doesn't do that. I really do like to come home from work when she is there. I'll stop at the LHBS, Harbor Freight or a buddies house if she's not home.

I still think you're doing it backwards, but... congrats?

:D

Congrats! Lovely lady.

I have been working on wife #3 for going on 31 years...and I do mean working! I married outside my species, she's a true red head. I still love her, although sometimes I don't like her very much. Never a dull moment around here. I think the key is to be happy, even when you get tick off! One big smile wipes out all frowns and you simply start over.

Yes Brother I totally agree. Sometimes who we marry isn't who we end up living with. In the scientific world it's known is Vaginaitis or (crazy ass *******)

My second and shortest marriage was a red head. That was just to much crazy for me. I bow to you that you can last that long. You have a great outlook on relationships. a survival skill I never perfected. good luck my friend.....

I don't believe there is a time frame to know if your in a good situation or bad. Vaginaitis is so unpredictable us guys are not given enough credit for what we have to go through to find a long term relationship.
glad to hear you survived long enough to find the right one.....
