Hi, i started my beer at 1040 and after 10 days the hydrometer reading is still only 1022. I am using a gone with the wheat czech pilsner beer.

I did pitch a 2nd sachet of yeast 2 days ago and reading changed 10pts from 1030.

Can i bottle if the reading now stays at 1022? Will there be much alcohol produced if i bottle now?

Thanks for your assistance this is my first ever brew.

If its gone from 1.030 to 1.022 in 2 days its still actively fermenting, so no, you can't bottle.
Take another reading in three days to see if your gravity is stable.

Yes its made from sorgham extract. The yeast is prium dried brewing yeast.

Thanks Pkrd,

What reading should i be looking for to bottle?

While you do have a TG (target gravity) in theory, in practice you are looking for stable FG readings. For most ales, check the gravity after about 10-12 days into fermentation; take another a few days later. If the reading is the same, then fermentation is complete and you can bottle. If the reading has changed, fermentation is still continuing and you should wait a few more days and recheck the gravity. Once it is stable, you can bottle.
