They'll probably come close to breaking even after margins on the sold bottles.
I'm not claiming they'll be bankrupt or anything; rather, it's just amazing that they're (in a position where they feel they need to be) refunding money that I'd guess could easily represent 20% of their yearly profits.

So they're refunding $50 x 3,500 tickets = $175,000? Wow. Without commenting on whether it's a good choice, $175k of lost revenue (whose associated costs are already sunk) seems BRUTAL for a small business.
They'll just raise the price of Jai Alai by 50 cents per six pack.

Yup, I'm sure they have (or had) plans for the revenue. Unless they have no idea what's going on with their cash flow, which wouldn't surprise me.

What's the best way to recoup that lost revenue in one day? Catador round 2 signups probably just got expedited a bit..

Now I'm dead serious. When you saw him, did he have my bottles of hunahpu? His well being is a secondary consideration.
hahahahahahaha **** your bottles! Too bust waiting in line and ensuring **** faces didnt cut me in line. I was 1 person back when they said "no more cases". Luckily, they had about 6 cases left and I was A-OK

Yeah I lost my cool. He kept bitching about my cooler. So I told very loudly and a few times to shut the **** up. But we shared beer about 10 minutes later.
My girlfriend thought that guy was an idiot for fighting with you. I lol'd and proceeded to wait for my bottles that never happened. Although the Cuban sandwich I had waiting in the cf was glorious.

To be fair, paying money in advance to reserve something you want entitles you to feel entitled.

With an event that big, the day should be split in half anyway. X hours for bottle pick up and X for the beer fest. I got to have maybe 20 or so pours before I waited in line to be shut out. The line to get bottles felt more like a mosh pit.

Can we please get stories about everyone that ate at Peg's on Friday got food poisoning? and their FB page has been taken down? =D

I ate the Frito Bandito burrito and the Hard tacos. Didn't get food poisoning. Got taken away only half finished, but that was my own fault for walking away bottle sharing and thinking it would stay there on the barrel I was standing around.

What were people eating who got sick?

Central Waters had a similar issue, except they didn't sell out. Several of us in line were like "why not just open the bottle sales to ticket holders a couple hours before the party?"

That would give people the chance to get bottles, bring them back to their car or hotel, and then come back and enjoy themselves.

Exactly. By the time I got into the event, I had enough time to grab a few pours and jump into the bottle line.

or better yet: names on tickets (transferrable up until a certain time before event week). bottle sales all week with a guraranteed allotment for the person who's name is bound to the ticket. no bottle sales during the party itself. no trustees. hire a professional event planner to help run the draft party/bottleshare. release leftover bottles at the pub afterward. done.

Rabble rabble rabble.

**** happens, it is evident that beer people cannot plan events.

I got there at 10:30 because I assumed with 3500 people going that the line would get bad(who would've guessed it did). Got in in under 15 minutes.

Had you followed directions and showed up at 11 like they asked or had everyone ignored the requests of CCB and showed up prior to 11 causing a **** show earlier in the day then I'm sure you'd be pissed off like most people are.

Say what?

jegross2 walked away with 5 cases of DB Huna, EVERYONE should PM for a bottle, he's selling at cost….

Let me stop this rumor before it gets out of hand. It was three cases, and its only cause I tricked raymo out of the third one. Sent a case to Jeff smith, a case to John st Charles and the rest are for trolling
