I set up a 7 cu. ft. keezer last winter with a Johnson temp controller. It's in my garage. I have it set at 42*F. Even this winter it seems to come on once every hour or so for a few minutes. Is this normal. I guess I had envisioned it only coming on a couple times a day, if at that. The temp probe is just hanging into the middle of the keezer, it's not in any water or anything. What's the best setup and am I over concerned?

thanks:mug:

My 7.0 cu ft. GE keezer turns on for approx. 5-6 min/hour in the summer.

The probes are definitely water-proof? Not managed to find any text related to the product that specifically states this.

Upright 20 cu ft freezer set to 36F with a 6F differential in a 90+F garage. Maintains ~39F in the middle shelf (top/bottom are slightly hotter/colder).

If I don't open the door, it runs < 10 minutes an hour. My Kill-A-Watt meter says it's costing me a little more than $4/month to operate in the summer.

Temp probe is strapped to the CO2 tank in the rear, center of the freezer. I put a small piece of foam rubber insulation on the outside of the probe to prevent reading the ambient air temperature.
