CAP means Classic American Pilsner, it's an old term. I guess they call them Pre-Prohibition Pils these days, or something else. I dunno.

Screw Gordon Stong and his definitions.

ahh, i just brewed a "brown" rice stout! (give it a try, brown rice and roast barley are a great combo! :mug: maybe abreviate it CASH, Classic American Stout Homebrew! ;))

5 Gallons Strawberry Milkshake IPA
5 Gallons Founders Breakfast Stout
5 Gallons Smoked Chipotle

5421 + 15 = 5436

5417 + 5gal Leftover Pils
=5422

mix in some pale malt for color? ;)

i just brewed a batch as an experiment, still don't have any crystal malt...so i just tossed 2ozs chocolate into a all base malt beer. looks pretty should be interesting, lots of hops, but simple additions. added some wine yeast got a 500g brick for $30, but it says it's cervaseia, not baynus...going to be good, win or lose! (had to add a 1lb of table sugar to hit my target :( would have been cooler if i had some corn flakes! lol)

10+5422=5432

Just base malt, did add some domestic 2row to the german pilsner malt for a little color and a somethin' somethin'.

If you can make your own base malts why don't your make your own crystal malts?

LOL, yeah that's what i thought ;) best lager i ever made was a pale ale malt, smooth and creamy lightness! :mug:

and i can and do make my own crystal malt, but at the moment i'm still trying to get back on top of the game! been getting my ass kicked the last couple years, but haven't let 'them' land a knock out yet! (i've got my house tidy again! :D)
