I just did a count of my empty carboys this morning :

11 - five gallon
3 - six gallon
2 - seven gallon

I have 2 lambics on deck that will tie up 2 of the six gallon carboys. Also have ~15 gallons of wine planned for this fall that will eventually end up in 3 five gallon carboys.

Currently full carboys include:
2 seven gallon carboys of Carmenere wine (Chilean)
3 gallons of port
3 gallons of pear wine
5 gallons of RIS
7 gallon carboy - Flanders Red
5 gallons Chianti
5 gallons Sangiovese
6 gallons Malbec
6 gallons Grenache
5 gallons Reisling

Currently in plastic fermenters:
6 gallons Irish Red
5 gallons Dubbel

Do I have a sickness?

3- 6 gallon Better Bottles
3- 5 gallon glass carboys

Hope to fill them soon, but time has been in short supply.

Yes.

I currently have both of my glass carboys empty and all of my plastic carboys empty.

I don't use them very often anyway, but I usually have at least ONE vessel sitting with something in it. Maybe I need to brew up a KBS clone (Since I can never seem to get my hands on any of the real thing!)

Wow! What I would give for that many carboys. I have three full, two empty. I'm saving the two empties for fruit wine, although I'm hoping to purchase a few more in the near future.

Have two lambics and a Belgian pale ale with brett in the full carboys.

Looks like I need to up my carboy count...

I have a Flanders in a 5 gal, and my two 6.5gal are empty until tomorrow when I brew 10gal lambic. Three ale pails are also empty, but two are dedicated to sours, which is what I will fruit my lambics in.

wow... Feeling a little inferior right now.
Have six total carboys (6.5, 6, 5, 5, 5, 1), one 5 gallon carboy empty.

Wait til Yooper posts.

Got 2 empty 6.5 gl and 5 - 5 gallon and getting ready to keg another in about 5 mins. But on the good note got 3 full ones and 4 full kegs.

I've got 2 lagers on deck (lagering), an empty 6.5, and 4 empty 5's. A chocolate stout is on queue for my big brew day on Saturday (12+ brewers).

Jeebus. OP, you may have too much spare time/space for your own good! :p

Empty, I have:
3 - 3gal
3 - 5gal
5 - 6gal

Full, I have:
1 - 3gal (Biere de Garde that's "garding")
1 - 5gal Sweet Mead (6-7mths in, need to bottle soon)

Getting 5gal of my buddy's Harvest Ale, on Sunday. He does 30-35gal at a time, and has spare wort for locals. I might do something weird to it, like hefe or saison yeast... or I might be boring and use US-05.

Lagering, by definition, happens below deck!

I added lagering as an edit figuring I'd be called out on it otherwise, but it did not slip by anyway! I bottle so 'on deck' did not register quite right with me!

Sadly my entire armada of 1 gallon carboys is sitting empty.

3.

Yep. Three. :'(

We have a tiny apartment and just back from a month away in South America (more on that in another thread, Lima Peru has a rocking craft scene starting up). And am going to be filling at least one of those buggers tonight.

No, you have too much money, too much time on your hands, and too big of a house.

Too much money? Never! :) got some good deals on Craigslist.

Too much time? Look at all those empty carboys!

Too big of a house? Well, sometimes it feels like that, especially when the heating bills come!

I have no idea! I'd have to run and count them. But off the top of my head, only about 10 are full so there must be 15 or 20 empty ones in the basement. There are several big plastic primaries empty right now as well.

I'm going to fix that soon, as fall is our winemaking season and I'm going to start plum, chokecherry, apple, and crabapple cider in the next few weeks.

Your post made me get up and go count, I found 11 empty carboys:
1-2 gallon
3-3 gallon
5-5 gallon
2-6.5 gallon
All empty
I used to make a lot of wine, but my local vineyard has been having poor results for the last few years. Beer is a much quicker turnover, and I have two more carboys in use.
I'm planning on filling a good many carboys with a long term project: flanders red and other sour beers. The smaller carboys are slated for a mead/pyment experiment. Might even buy some west coast grapes or juice for some wine. Waiting for some cooler weather this fall.
