A buddy and I brewed an oatmeal stout last fall. Hitting the year mark in a 5 gal keg. We drank some but probably several gallons left. Hasn't been touched in months and no hoses attached because I didn't want them to mold. It's been in a kegorator the whole time and I am wondering if I should pitch it, or if there is a way to see of its bad. Let me know your thoughts.

A stout could easily still be good. How long beers last is dependent on style, sanitation, oxidation etc. Give it a taste. Nothing that will harm you will be present. If it tastes good drink it. If not and only if you have tried it and it is bad, then dump it. My Russian Imperial Stout lasted almost 2 years. In fact it was not even very good until over 6 months old and seemed still at it's peak when I finished the last one.

A few years ago I brewed a pumpkin ale and I didn't really like it so it sat, and the following year it was better but it ended up sitting for another year and it was much better and then I took it to a beer fest and had great reviews and a kicked keg when I came home. So at least 2 years in the keg.

I may be late to the party, but I keep some beer in my kegs for 5-6 months or more and they are fine. One thing though, I keep my kegs cold and pressurized.

It's been pressurised and chilled the whole time. Still havnt tried it but will just give it a shot and see how it tastes.

As long as it's been under pressure and there have not been any large swings in temperature it could easily last a few years.

Note: If you used caramel/crystal malt (in any recipe) it will turn more candy-like over time.
