How long to ferment or consition

Want to do a Belgian golden ale like a Duvel but I was wondering how long to keep it in a fermenter or a bottle. I believe they need to be conditioned for a good while before drinking

I did mine about 9 months ago, and finally put it on tap about 2 weeks ago. It's very good now, and all the info I saw suggested that a good 6 month wait is necessary.

IME 3-5 months depending on gravity/ABV
