3 days ago I brewed an all grain stout with an OG of 1.066. Pitched a pack of Safale US-05 into aerated wort and placed into my fermenting fridge. I went to check on it today and discovered that my thermostat was dislodged and the fridge got down to about 42F! Obviously, no sign of fermentation at this point.

I took the carboy out and am slowly getting it up to about 68-70F in a 75F room before putting back into the fermenter which should be 65F now that I replaced the thermostat. Should I expect to pitch another pack of yeast or should it just wake up when the temp gets right? I plan to agitate the carboy vigerously once the temp rises.

Thoughts?

Your yeast will be fine. They will wake up soon and get back to eatin'. I wouldnt even agitate the wort. Maybe a slight swirl, but thats it.

Thanks everybody. Yes, I should have just used common sense and let it sit a day before posting.
Checked it today, and it is fermenting nicely. Placed it back in the 66F fermenter and I should be in good shape.
