That represents a lot of ‘cheddar.’

We spent over $100 on cheese during our current trip to Wisconsin, and we’re not even close to that haul. But, we could probably eat that in a day.

I should have checked the receipt. SWMBO’d sneaked in a 2# block of 15 year aged cheddar, so the bill was prolly closer to $175. That’s what I get for just tossing the credit card down when ordered. A bit like a dog who will fetch and drop on command, I guess.

At least it wasn’t the 24 year old cheddar. That went for $99.00 per pound! Ouch!!! I put my foot down on that purchase.

Actually, it is kinda’ a thing. Unknown how much an effect high radiation exposure is a cause/predictor of developing testicular and prostate cancers, but high radiation radars in certain military applications (mostly airborne) are an ongoing concern.

Canopies of Navy EA-6B (and I assume EA-18 ‘Growler’ aircraft) have canopies impregnated with gold filament to diffuse high energy radar returns from the cockpits. The standing joke about receiving orders to one of those squadrons was the ‘requirement’ of being fitted for a gold plated jock strap.
