Hops in muslinbag

Just a question bout placing the hops in a muslinbag into the wort?

has anyone tryed it? or does it not get the water around the hops ?

I was going to weigh off my hops tie them in to a muslinbag and just drop one in at each interval, or is it just better to dump right into the wort and not worry bout using a muslinbag

During the boil it's fairly standard practice to use a muslin boiling bag or some such thing. A lot of kits come with them included.

cheers for the quick reply thanks for clearing that up, just been watching some youtube and noticed most just dump the hops right in, wondered if there was a reason.

Laziness? Muslin's pretty darn porous; hop utilization shouldn't be impacted significantly.

There's nothing wrong without using a muslin bag either. I've done it both ways and can't tell a difference as far as taste. It looks really messy and unappealing when you dump it all in the carboy, but your racking cane will filter it all out anyway.
