Bracc, you're a grown man, you can wear whatever you want

i assure you i ditched the holy jeans, and flanel jacket...for slacks and button up shirts...but i still like flannel! the kids give me a hard time about it! maybe that's a good thing, i'm not sure?

edit: and i'm not a grown man! stop calling me that, refer to me as "that bratty boy"!

After reading through these responses...thought about starting a thread called Post a Pic of Yourself...then I rethought it, quickly. Although I will admit I was slightly disappointed when @grampamark was NOT the photo in his avatar, although he is still quite handsome. Sorry for the ellipseses, it comes from reading too many of @bracconiere's posts!!

Back before you were born (on this forum), there was a time when porn was allowed. It started out, somewhat innocently, as "Brew babes", but expanded quickly. Was popular as the "boneyard" for a long time. Unexpectedly, some users on this forum posted pics of themselves, nude. Yes, it happened. Then folks posted pics of their partners in the nude.

That area disappeared VERY quickly when a certain dude started posting pics of his junk. That did happen.

I wonder who in this thread would contribute to that thread.

i've heard the rumors, and attempted revival....but wouldn't be one that 'signed up' for it....i prefer thinking of you all as cartoon catheters...(damn spell check! ;))

That was back when you were a mod. I'm sorry that you had to go through that.

It's all fun and games until someone's dong comes out. This is why we just can't have nice things.

You know I always wondered why @passedpawn stopped moderating.

The puzzle pieces are finally fitting together...

Looked like a good place to drop this pic. First photo ever of people drinking. 1844.

Some questions come to mind:
  1. There are 3 drinks on the table. Seems probable that the photog asked the central member of this group to move, for the pic. He seems to have moved, but occupied on his cell. ?
  2. Those beer glasses?
  3. Looks like a cork was left on the table. Just right of the center glass. Thoughts?
  4. Chap on left is holding a book. What do you suppose that would be?
  5. Appears chap 3, on the cell, wears a pinkie ring. Same with chap 2. Thoughts?
  6. Is there a rolled carpet behind them? What kind of establishment is this?

and here i thought paul bunnion in the background just didn't fit in the frame?

edit: and of course the way the guy with the creepy look towards the other drinkers is holding john palmer's pre-quel edition, and having impure thoughts....

Just wild guesses but here goes...
1. You can see the bottle just behind the book.
2. Elegant Pilsener glasses!
3. The cork, they were planning to write their names, the date, etc. and throw it on the pile of good times souvenirs.
4. The book is a collection of bawdy poetry and turgid limericks; chap 3 was so enthralled with the one about the seamstress who relieved an engorged todger with a hat pin that he had to call his opium monger.
5. Those aren't pinkie rings, they are cigar bands. These fellas just enjoyed a round of Cohiba 7ga, Connecticut shade wrapper maduros. duh...
6. That's not just a rolled carpet, it's a pencil skirt. Worn by a 7-foot Venezuelan chap they call Beatrix.

See, that's why I think you're awesome. When somebody asks, I'll just link this response to save ink. Prost!

Definitely has the lusty eye that chap #1, he's clearly obsessing over hot side oxidation or some such perversion. Hope the other two fellas have auction paddles down the back of their trousers, no telling what depraved tomfoolery he may get up to.

Aren’t those the regulars who only post in the Brew Science subforum?

Deep nostalgia=deepfake? Just sayin’…
Deepfake yes for certain. It's purpose is for people researching their ancestors to get a glimpse of what they might have looked like if old photos could move. Tried it myself with photos of loved ones I've lost, immediately tugged at my heart strings. Wish we'd all had video cameras rolling at all the family gatherings, didnt occur to us then that those were the good old days and it hurts so much that once vivid memories eventually fade into fuzzy stills.

Eating corn on the cob has got to be one of the greatest pleasures this earth has to offer.

Visceral wild feeding
Satiating myself in primal manner
Eyes rolled back like a shark
Incisors tear away the veneer of humanity.

Pass the butter.
Mmmm...fresh corn

Mmmm...fresh corn
I have been known to buy a few ears of fresh sweet corn, cook it up, and have that and ONLY that for a meal. One of the most glorious things I have learned in this life is when someone served us corn on the cob, and they provided half-sticks of real butter (cut with the wrapper still on) to butter the corn. Effing GENIUS. I also once had to explain to my husband what corn cob holders are; except in my family we call them "corn jobbies". I do not know why but they are an essential item in my utensil drawer.

We had corn on the cob with dinner again last night. I'm googling different ways of preparing it but who am I kidding. A steaming hot ear rolled through salted butter is really hard to beat. I'm going to have it as often as I can while it's in season, then I'll dream about it all winter long.

Grill it. Leaves on (trim the end silk and strays) about 6-8 quarter turns. Turn before blackening the side. Peel and of course the half stick of butter.

Smoked low and slow. then plenty of salted butter. It's the only way I eat corn anymore. cleaned of leaves and smoked till golden.
can't wait till local corn is in!

I was wondering if smoked corn was a thing. Curious what hardwood you recommend?
I use a pellet smoker with Pit Boss Competition Blend but I would probably use Oak , Pecan or Hickory if using chips or chunks. I would think almost anything except Mesquite, that may be too strong.
I first had smoked corn at a BBQ joint near here and I think they used Hickory for everything. Great food and an awesome beer selection. Unfortunately they closed during COVID.
