Found these the other day at HD for $9. Heavy-duty and perfectly sized.

Attached a pic of my plastic carboy in one of these crates for scale.

I just bought 2 of those yesterday to see how they do holding beer bottles. Champagne bottles do just fine 'cept they are too tall to stack. Haven't tried the European 500ml bottles yet.
 
I saw them @ the Depot too, been waitin' on the price to drop!
I figure it will happen soon, 'cause they are at the front of the store, and that's where stuff usually goes to die.........
 
Milk crates are awesome. They hold 24 bottles, and turn one upside down for a perfect drying stand for the MLT. If you stack two of them up with the open end facing up, you can use it as a perfect drying stand for an upside-down better bottle or keg.
