I am planing on turning a old 15 gal pot into a HLT and was wanting to know where on the pot is the best place the thermomator Bottom middle? Thanks for any input

I went for bottom middle so it would always be covered and wouldn't get in the way. You need to mix to be sure that the temperature is equal throughout.

Is that one at bottom and one in the middle of the put say at the 7 gal mark?

I have a 30gal HLT with an e element at the bottom. No thermometer atm. I find that when I check the temp at the top, it varies about a degree across the surface, maybe a little less. Say I found it to be 177degF-ish. I then stir well, and measure 173-174. Stratification is occurring. I would put the probe in the middle, and do some experiments with stirring. It's easy enough to do.
