Damn, hope this new policy means it lasts until next Wednesday. Planning on a cannonball run up on the 8th.

It's going to require that every single person be in the system, and asked about it each and every time. I haven't found that to be the case yet but I hope they make it work.

but wouldn't it be relatively easy to bypass? Pay with cash and use a couple of different names? Unless they ask for an ID when someone purchases a bottle with a limit? I like the idea of having the limit so the bottles last longer, just gotta figure that people will figure out ways to game the system.

Yes, if you want to be a ****** you can clearly game the system.
No different than changing clothes and going back through the line like the same bottom feeders do.

People will absolutely, unfortunately, do their best to play the system. For what it's worth, cash sales still are input into the POS system by customer name.

The crew at HF does seem to be pretty good about remembering faces. Does anyone know exactly what information they put into the POS? I feel like I gave them an email address or a phone number, but can't quite recall.

It's a good policy move on their part (definitely some rustled jimmies in their Facebook page comments on it though), but what happens when two people have the same name? Will some extra info (again, I just don't really remember what they asked me for) be able to separate them? It would suck for someone to get into an argument over that when they legitimately had not already purchased anything.

they take enough info as is to differentiate between same named people
<----has most common name in the world.

I understand the need for the new policy, but I'm not sure it solves the problem. People will continue bringing as.many mules as they can. And not sure how they work it out to enforce it, guess that remains to be seen.

It WILL effect people like me who they personally know by sight and interact with, but dems the breaks. :)

Looks like it will be easier and cheaper for me to fly out to HF to get a sp

i think the new policy will increase the mule process. As far an enforcing the rules, I wouldn;t be surprised if they used some sort of ID software. TBH, I am surprised breweries haven't gone that route yet. Could be used as a valuable tool.

it's not perfect but it's a step in the right direction... I don't think people can take that many mules and it will at least prevent the mules from going two days in a row... and not just the "I brought my grandma w/ me" mule but the ones that make a business out of muling for strangers...

i wouldnt go there but a card reader would be just as effective. I know here in CA they have a bar code on our ID so you can slide it to verify age etc. I know their is software out there that they can use to track info, etc. ANd yes, you would hear all about how bad Big Brother is hahaha

Agreed this doesn't solve much of anything. I'm happy they care enough about their customers to try new things.

Will continue to hope they make everything limit 1/day and not announce things until Wednesday AM.

Not to start another ******* two page thread, but it is strange to me/inconsistent how he refers to this stuff. He says stuff on twitter like "only the very best barrel becomes Ann," (seemingly referring to what is bottled as Ann itself) and then refers to what goes into CD11 as Ann as well. Seems like calling the stuff in CD10/CD11 "barrel aged Arthur/Anna" would be more appropriate. Not that it bothers me, I just don't totally follow the terminology. If out of dozens of barrels, only one becomes Ann, what happens to the rest of it?

  • Civil Disobedience 11: A blend primarily consisting of wine barrel aged Anna. 750ml. $35, Limit one (1) per person. Please see updated release policy here.

Nothing to see here...

On another subject, how's this latest batch of Dorothy? All brett and Citra dry hopped sounds pretty great to me.

I heard from a number of people whose opinions I trust that it is substantially better than batches 1 and 2, and now I want to try it.

Seriously delicious. I sort of want to see what age does, but the other part of me wants to drink everything now because I'm enjoying it so much
