Where are you seeing this? Last I heard when I was there last week was early april.

http://www.bostonmagazine.com/restaurants/article/2015/03/24/shaun-hill-farmstead-brewery/

"He might never add another fermentation tank or encroach upon the pastoral landscape of his farm again, but he does plan to dig below the surface, where he can build a 5,000-square-foot cave dedicated to cherished barrel-aged projects such as Art, Civil Disobedience, and Genealogy of Morals"

That article reads almost like a parody, like it was written specifically to mock the most pretentious ways that beer geeks discuss Hill Farmstead.

As we wait in 40-degree temperatures, the conversation in line turns to Shaun’s rumored upcoming releases—“I heard he’s working on a batch of Earl”—which kegs are running low—Double Citra is supposed to kick before noon—and whether the truly ambitious among us have time to drive up to Newcastle, Maine, for an event at Oxbow Brewing Company. There’s even some conjecture about Shaun’s love life. The guy behind me—the one angling for my supply of Art—is speculating about rumors that Shaun has dated a cheese maker at Jasper Hill Farm. “They were like Vermont royalty,” he says. “The king and queen of all things craft.”

Double Citra was supposed to kick before the opening time? That's impressive.

ha! I don't recall what the line was that Wednesday... we were in and out on Thursday however... but yes, I think the guy is taking shots at the stereotypical beer geek...

edit: writer said Dec 9th.. that was a Tuesday

Yup we are a pretty easy target and generally can't run fast.

It's boston ******* magazine. There's not a single shred of researched news in Boston. Taking shots is their only thing

I'm being sent one by a buddy of mine, but haven't had it yet. That said: I trust his taste and he said it was absolutely fabulous.

I don' think I've had b1... but the most recent is better fresh than the last were IMHO

This is what I get for not reading first, thought we were talking this batch. Missed the whole B1 thing. Had B1 Norma good good while ago, loved it, but that's feedback from quite a few months ago. Intend on popping this one fresh.

I still have a b4 for your brother... *cough* Gene *cough*

Not since May of last year. We did B1, B2 and B3 together and B1 was the clear winner. No idea how it's held up until now. It was also the smallest Norma release by far, so who knows how many are left out in the wild.
I'll echo this. Clear rankings in my book then were B1>B3>>>>B2. I have since had a B2 bottle that was great as well (much better than I found the B2 bottle we had in May). Haven't opened a B4 yet but can't wait. One of my favorites from HF.

Didn't care for b1 (and thus didn't bother to get any b2) and found b2 to be ok after a year. Thought b3 was great fresh. Haven't had b4 yet.

it's a little slow.. still probably the thread I check most...
I just think the discussions between different batches is silly. Many of these batches are made (or aged) very differently and IMO shouldn't be compared. Then it goes on for 3 pages about Norma. Just like what happened with the HF stouts 10 or 20 pages ago.

I want real, useful information. I know, I'm demanding. :)
