I can proxy unless you guys are shipping more stuff or meeting up soon. Mary might not make it to Saturday now that I think about it... hold over from last week so
I'll be down there over the weekend of March 22-25. I was only allowed 2x 6pcks with the rest of my bottles coming back to Canada and I thought I would save one for him

Had that WoL:Tired Hands tonight, the Spicebush one... When I initially had it, I felt it was just sour and nothing else. Like the overwhelming sourness didn't let any other flavours shine. Well if you are sitting on one I would recommend putting it at the top of queue. It has matured nicely and mellowed out to where the Spicebush is a beautiful compliment to the base beer. Almost like Elderflower, very much like elderflower actually. Beautifully balanced with brett and notes of lemon. Initially tart with a dry maybe even earthy finish. It's drinking marvelously

Did a pretty structured blind BA Saison tasting yesterday (third party pouring, no talking about the beers during, etc.) and these are the results:

Not surprisingly HF stuff were three of the top seven. Also, I know, I know, no Art, Ann, (insert any number of other CD here), etc., but what we had was plenty, and deal with it.

Edit: parenthesis near the beers were the order in the tasting, and the parentheses near the ratings are the weighted rating.

Thanks for sharing! I love blind tastings. Care to share which one you were? What did you think of the experience? Any big surprises for you? Also, how many ounces per pour?

I’m third from the right. It was quite an enjoyable experience overall. We had plenty of snacks, bread for palate cleansing in between beers, etc. I can’t say I’m too surprised by the results. We all know SP, HF, and SARA make world class beer. Maybe the Monkish was a bit of a surprise, but they also generally kill it.

About 1oz/pour. We’re not in the Midwest, I swear, but it was also pretty open to good friends who wanted in and could contribute. Several ounces were left in each bottle so you could check back into something afterwards.

Also, not to toot my own horn, but there was a field for guessing the beer. I got five correct and won that little contest. I thought I guessed quite a few more as I’ve tried 2/3 of that list previously, but it’s obviously pretty damn difficult given palate fatigue and the subtle differences in these beers.
