This year's FoFa was the strongest example I have ever seen of the magnetism of rarity and "releases" (and the associated social influence factors). Side Project's line had literally half the attendees for almost the entire time they were pouring. Flora BBR and Sarrasin both cultivated similar lines.

I laughed to myself that the huge line size distinctions were like a parallel to "trade value", maybe with a hint of FOMO about releases baked in. All the beers at the festival were between good and amazing and the line size for certain beers seemed like an assignment of being worth the wait because those beers were more exclusive.

Not a knock on those waiting at all, just an observation I had. Most beers were available for a lot of the day and it made sense to get the rarer ones while the getting was good for those patient enough. We missed out on Tete because we decided to hop around and hit the other beers we were excited about instead of jumping in the SP line initially. (We were OK with that and quite content, although I am sure it is great)
BdF was a YUGE want of mine, but I see your point. I wasn't too upset missing Tete (it's an awesome beer)

Nice meeting you and your girlfriend! And a couple others. The beer lineup smashed anything I've attended in the past. I'll definitely try again next year :)

In my mind, Harambe would be a single barrel expression of an Imperial Stout with cacao nibs and banana, and aged in a rum barrel for 18 months.

This is the ale that I dream to have shared with Harambe before he was gunned down because a dumb **** kid thought it was a good idea to climb a fence, crawl through some brush, and then fall into his moat enclosure.

Limit 2 per person total.

or

0 per person if you bring your dog.

We said literally the exact same thing. Walked in around 11:45ish and saw the line for SP. Walked over and had pours of BA dorothy, West Ashley, Elab 5, MvB, Spontaneous Blend + a bunch of others, then did that rotation again!

Overall, another great year and glad the rain held off! Man I wish i had one of those Banh mi's for lunch today.

or something from the boner cart :D
Speaking of boners, it was great touching tips with you and your buddies. Thanks for Inviting us over Saturday night. Good to meet a few of you others as well along the way including a lot of cool people that should be on TB.

Parker Pie on Saturday was super mellow. Tilquin and Cantillon Geuze on draft plus bottles of 3F OG was perfect along with a green mountain pie and Edward to wash it all down after a great festival. What a fantastic weekend.

BoatsAndHoes you've officially triggered my filter setting to off, so here we go...

I've soiled this thread long enough. I'm very jealous of the local beer scene in Vermont (east coast in general). And once this mixed case of Alchemist and HF saisons are gone I won't know what to do with myself :(

Cheers!

I'd imagine that if my kid snuck into my beer cellar and got his hands on my bottle of Harambe, I'd have no choice but to kill it.

Got dat label copy for you...

Harambe (1999-2016) is our grandfather's fourth cousin, twice removed; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this single barrel expression of an Imperial Stout with cacao nibs and banana was aged in a rum barrel for 18 months. 13.5ºP, 65 ibus, 9.2% abv. Caramel malt; Centennial, hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water. All proceeds go to seeing eye dogs for elderly gorillas.

IBU measurement? fail.

Alright which one of you has a New Hampshire license plate that reads
"HLFRMSTD"? I drove by you on 495 or 290 headed toward Worcester yesterday. It drove the stake just that much deeper in my heart that I'd missed Fofa and all the festivities. I was officiating my cousins wedding in Rye or I would have been there, hell or high water.

Popped 14 Anna, the most recent batch of Clara, a Bro Soigné and a magnum of Nordic Saison by the seashore, and was pleasantly surprised that a few of the groomsmen were stoked on the Hill Farmstead and OEC I brought. The Nordic and the Anna stood out, but not a slouch in the bunch.

Sorry I am late for the dog stuff, but wanted to share this.

Feel bad for both dog owners, these situations are hard.

Meet Tanner,
FB_IMG_1462322375749_zpsgxopmtei.jpg

Tanner is now 14, he is a lab sharpei mix. I rescued him when he was only 6 months. I had many plans of taking him to brew pubs and restaurants etc.. he was my buddy, still is. There is something about tanners face that makes other dogs want to bite it. He has been attacked about 8 times in the last 14 years. Those are just the attacks that actually hurt tanner. I have prevented more than I can count on all my fingers and toes. Some were major and some were just flesh wounds. I am extremely hypervigilant when other dogs come around. Many many many times owners say I want to let them meet each other, I have said no my dog is not mean and has never attacked another dog but your dog will probably attack Tanner. The owner almost always says things like, not my dog he or she loves dogs and would never attack, they are never violent etc... most of the time they respect my wishes. But over 14 years of being a dog owner and socializing unfortunatly **** happens, and I have always been right. I cannot think of a single time I had Tanner with another dog (other than our 2nd dog) that didn't end with him getting attacked or me preventing an attack in the last 14 years.

Parents had a little fluffy dog, never attacked any animal, he was like 16 when I got tanner. We introduced them and immediate started attacking and chewing on tanners face. The dog had no teeth and tanner was like wtf get it off me.

He got bit in the eye, attacked by our other dog many times as a puppy until she got bored of attacking Tanner. Attacked by my sisters dog, attacked by my brothers dog, neighbors dogs, random loose or strays that come out of nowhere while I am walking him. Double teamed by 2 German shepherds, this one was pretty bad.

To this day I look out the windows make sure there are no dogs out before I take him out to go to the bathroom.

I have many insane story's of my life with Tanner, I literally could write a book. Marley was an angel compared to what he put us through. I will leave those for the dog threads, but just a teaser. Jumped out of my t-tops in an MR2 while driving about 20mph, jumped out of another car with window cracked about 5 inches. Rolled the window down him self another time and jumped out whole driving. And ultimately did about 30k in damages to our 3 homes, cars, and things. I fully understand why he was given away at only months, but I accepted the challenge and will never give up, he is my buddy and I love him, I couldn't image the last 14 years without him. Maybe we will get a few more years out of him too. Hopefully less expensive years.

TLDR: Had great plans for me and Tanner, had to change them all and not take him anywhere with me, and also have be very careful when doing anything with him in public places. Dogs can't be fully trusted.

OK back to HF stuff and things. Didn't re read and typed from phone, sorry for grammatical errors.

******* love Tanner. Always enjoyed his stories. And I have a soft spot for rescues and sharpeis.

Anna is like my shelf unicorn, lol. I think this is the 3rd time where I missed it by +/- one week at HF.

Probably just as well, wouldn't have had room to stack 3 cases of it in the back of the car anyway.

Was worried I'd miss out on Vera last week...now I get to grab Vera and Anna all at once, **** Yea!

more Anna gifs - why? because you can never have too many
