trying to bottle my beer today and i do not have any priming sugar.....can i use table sugar and if so how much ......bottling +/- 5 gallons.....temp will be around 65 degrees............do not have a scale but can borrow one if i need to......can i use a measuring cup equivalent

thanks for the help

Powdered sugar has corn starch in it, and should therefore be avoided (unless you want thicker, cloudy beer that's less carbonated). Table sugar works fine for carbonation.

Cane sugar is fine for priming. As mosquitocontrol said, just use a little less. If you want a more specific conversion, use this table from chapter 11 of John Palmer's "How to Brew" (it is the same as the one in Brewing Classic Styles).
