I purchased a kit from northern brewer today. I was impressed by it bring ready to drink in four weeks, but after more reading after I brought it home I found out it will only have 3% alcohol. Hence only four weeks till it is ready.

What I am asking is there any way to beef up the recipe up to around 5-7%? preferably 7 but I could settle with 5.

It came with:
.5 lb simpsona caramalt
1 oz fawcett pale chocolate
3 lb light dme
1 oz Kent goldings

It was the AK 47 pale mild extract kit.

You could buy more DME to add to it. Then you'd need more hops to offset the increased maltyness.

Me... I'd just buy another kit, brew them both and enjoy them as they were meant to be. Milds can be nice, tasty beers and you can drink a bunch of them without ending up on your lips.

I only have a certain amount of bottle and I don't want to waste space with a beer I can purchase at the store for dirt cheap.
