Hi All,

first time posting here, sorry to make the first a problem!
I ordered everything for my first extract Hefeweizen brew, recipe as follows : 5lbs Wheat Dry Malt Extract, 1/2lb Flaked Wheat, 1/2 Flaked Oats, 1oz Hallertau Hop Pellets and the White Labs 300 Hefeweizen yeast.

Problem is, instead of the Wheat Dry Malt, I ordered LIGHT dry malt extract. Should I go ahead with the light or order the wheat extract instead? Or maybe substitute another recipe?
Thanks in advance!

Drop the flaked wheat and use the light malt extract and you'll have something like a dampfbier. It's an all barley malt beer brewed using german hefe yeast. I've always wanted to brew one just haven't had the time. If you have your heart set on something close to a true hefe then you should wait and order the wheat malt extract.
