Hi. Looking for pointers and tips for my weekend trip to VT. The GF and I are going to drink our way through Burlington, hit up Fiddlehead, and pick up as much Lawson's and heady as we can.

We'll be in Montepeliers/Stowe area Friday morning. I know stowe gets deliveries that day. What are the best shops and times to grab? Anywhere there sell cases (didn't see anything on the alchemist site).

Is the co-op in Montepelier a good place on Fridays? Anything left there?

Winooski beverage on Sat morning. How early should I be there? Will I get Lawson's there on Friday afternoon?

Also, any favorite bars in town? Farmhouse, windjammer, american flatbread?

Much thanks.

I'mg going to be up there in july. Very interested in the advice you get :)

Went up to Stowe to snowboard this past winter. We stayed in Waterbury. Prohibition Pig is a good place for food and beer. We ate there a few times and the beer selection is great. We ate at almost every restaurant on Main St in Waterbury and don't have a single complaint about any of them. I bought some Heady while I was there from Craft Beer Cellar which is right next to Pro Pig. I purchased it on a Wednesday, I think, while it was being delivered. There was a decent line for the beer and a two 4-pack limit per person per day.

Prohibition Pig and The Reservoir are my go to restaurants in Waterbury.

Study the distribution list on the alchemist's site. It goes fast every time. My sister's fiance lives up in that region, and even knowing some less visited stores it's hard for him to find appreciable amounts to bring down to us.

Definitely stop by prohibition pig for lunch, they usually have heady, sip of sunshine and a few beers from Lawson's. The only place they deliver on Saturdays is the beverage warehouse in Winooski. The place is huge and they have tons of great beer there. They get their delivery at ten. You!ll want to be there when they do. It doesn't last long. On Friday check out headyspotter.com they list all the deliveries for the day. I have called a few to see what time they get their delivery (they were happy to tell me). The beer is usually gone within an hour of arrival. You can sort of map out the route the truck takes. Good luck!

Farmhouse Tap is a great place for lunch. Prohibition Pig was great (I only went to the bar side). Went to the reservoir for lunch and love it too. Hit the Mad Taco on the way up too - crazy good tacos and tap beer.

If you go to VT, you really need to make the trip to Mecca - Hill Farmstead is a must. Bring as many growlers as you can - they fill all growlers, not just there own. You will not regret it. The best beer and the place is awesome - on the side of a mountain.

In my experience, I found Sip of Sunshine harder to find. Heady at least posts when and where the deliveries go. Get to Winooski 1 1/2 hr early. when I did that, I was 7th on line and got a 1/2 case (there ended up being about 100 people in line so they divy up the rations)

Lastly, I love Fiddlehead - Love their beer but I was disappointed at their brewery (only because it was tiny). They had 2 beers you can sample and get for growlers. That was it.

Blackback Pub in Waterbury and Three Penny Taproom in Montepelier are two of my favorites. Drink as much Hill Farmstead as you can. The brewery is a little out of the way but worth the visit if you have time. Cheers!

If you head to Hill Farmstead with your own growlers-- bring caps. Their growlers are swing tops so there are no caps for regular growlers. The lines there get long do getting there before they open is usually your fastest option. Montpelier: three penny taproom, Burlington: Farmhouse Tap and Grill, South Royalton: Worthy Burger-- all have great beer selections.
