/HBT,
Grow other herbs for your beer? Anything worth while to grow, particularly in New England climate? Do you grow Gruit beer herbs? Or others with interesting effects, but legal?

Here's my resources so far:

Anything dual purpose for smoking would be most excellent. Trying to cut back the nicotine for something less addictive and more chill.

You could grow coriander which can be used in (and in place of grains of paradise) Belgian/Abbey ales and also is a nice addition to salsa and guacamole! (Coriander seeds = cilantro herb)

Check out the book, The Homebrewer's Garden. It's got all kinds of info on herbs that can be used as brewing adjuncts, though I don't think it has much to say on how well you could smoke any of them... ;)

I own the Homebrewer's Garden and the book has had a huge influence in what I'm growing. Most of my garden has been planted this year so I'm not in a position to talk about what I've grown and used in beers. However the plan is to 'get there'.

I appreciate your links, I'm interested in eccentric ingrediants so I"m curious to learn more about the links you suggested.

I'm starting to look into growing Aframomum (Grains of Paradise) but have yet to find reference to anyone doing it successfully from purchased seeds...

Anyone out there succeed?
