Coleman's 48 quart cooler has dropped to $22. This is the same style cooler that the AHA features in their post on building a mash tun. Photo courtesy of that step by step.

Agreed...these coolers work well for simple batch sparging. My only caution is to be sure to get a real stainless braid. Lots of braids sold by HD etc are actually a polymer plastic that look like stainless but are not.

I posted a slightly different simpler, but very effective conversion method below. Upside of this method is the simple removal of the braid and an un altered cooler. You can mash on Saturday morning, and fill you cooler with beer and ice on Saturday afternoon /)
