I want to start filtering by beer, but I don't have a CO2 tank and kegs. I will be moving in the next few months to a bigger house, where I will then invest in some kegs and CO2 and can push the beer into a keg through a filter. In the mean time I would like a cheaper method.

So I was wondering:

1. Can I filter via gravity through a filter?
2. What is the best way to filter from glass carboy to bottling bucket?
3. What is the best filter and/or pump you would recommend?
4. Any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

1. no
2. don't. Wait until the beer is clear and then rack carefully avoiding the trub at the bottom. Get the carboy cold to assist in dropping out the particulates 3 days before racking.
