Queueing up to do another whole-grain pale ale this weekend.

Last batch a grain bag was used and it seemed to do alright. I noticed when pouring it out that there seemed to be a bit of "the good stuff" in the bag still.

Am I messing up by using a grain bag?

What are your experiences?

I use a Voile fabric (BIAB) bag in my keggle mash tun for every brew. I get faster clear wort with less effort and the clean up of my mash tun is now 15 minutes faster.

I will not brew without a bag anymore. I tried using one in the BK as well figuring it would make life easier and that was a failure due to cold break clogging up the pores of the fabric.

How big are the pores on that bag?

My bag is one of those small socks-and-skivvies nylon laundry bags. The pores are fairly large IMO.

They look pretty similar to the 100 micron filter bags you can buy from Duda Diesel.
