The Pinkertons is a massive disappointment. I think their target audience is 5th graders. It's a lot like the cheesy black and white westerns from the 50's.

Anyone here watched all of the Marco Polo series?

I downloaded it for an in-flight offline binge while crossing the pacific, but then recalled it having some pretty raunchy scenes.

Are said scenes merely occasional, or are they pretty consistently in most all episodes? Not sure I want to watch the latter with the risk of my kids looking over my shoulder.

S1 did have a fair amount of nudity, but it tended to decrease as the season progressed, at least that's how I remember it. I don't recall much nudity at all in S2. There definitely was some, but it was nothing compared to the first half of S1.

Not Netflix, it's Showtime...

Holy crap, watching Twin Peaks: The Return is like watching swim meets held in mud

Watching Part 8 and I swear the entire series up to now is 3 & 1/2 minutes of plot, the rest is David Lynch dicking around with digital video editing

Watched the first two episodes of GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) last night. It was entertaining, I'll watch some more to see where it goes.

Plus side, you get to see Allison Brie topless. So that was nice.

Her ****s are so nice, they named a character on community after them!

I actually wanted to check this out even before I found out she was going to be topless.

Watched Airplane! and Airplane 2: The Sequel last night with my daughter's new boyfriend.

Also, a small bit of Manos: The Hands of Fate Rifftrax edition, and Dr. Horrible's sing-along blog.

I didn't get a lot done last night, but I did manage to swap welding gas tanks, fill our propane tank, and get a haircut. There's quite a good list of movies he hasn't seen and I doubt I will be able to hang around and watch them all with them.

so, the BigHair got me a pair of round sunglasses for my birthday and was wearing them when I went to pick up the dog at day care. girl behind the counter says, "cool sunglasses"

I said, "they're my Ducky sunglasses"

she looked at me like I had 3 heads

"you know... Ducky... from Pretty in Pink. he wore shades like these"

still no recognition.

I would not have gotten that reference. And those movies were right in my wheelhouse. (Although I admit I'm not positive I ever saw Pretty in Pink...)

John Hughes and Molly Ringwald were the big combo in the 80s. Surprised everybody hasn't seen PnP. Top date movie from the 80s.

Anyone else slogging through American Gods? I have watched 3 episodes and while I think Ian MacShane is awesome in everything he's in including this, the rest of the cast especially Shadow and the plodding plot pace have me wondering how much more I'll watch.

I bought the book about 3 months ago. Started it and it was good, but I just kind of quit on it.

My daughter saw it and stole it from me. She had me download the series (Well, the start of it) so she could watch it. Haven't yet started.

I'm not exactly sure what it's going to be about, but from what I've read so far I think it *should* be interesting. Curious to see how it compares with the book. Generally I like reading the books first, but that may not be possible this time.

I made a Matrix reference to my new staff member yesterday. Got a blank stare. Further explained and she responded with "I don't watch old, scary movies".

The first couple episodes had me hooked. However it slowed down and I ended up dozing off during the 3rd to last and penultimate episode.
I don't know if I can take a second season at that pace.
Good news is that I talked swmbo into trying "Deadwood".
Even though she hates westerns

The BigHair doesn't like westerns, but loved Deadwood

Partly because of Olyphant, but once we got into it it was more ROBIN WEIGERT IS AWESOME!

And the dialogue is very Shakespearean

yeah, Shakespeare uses "**********" all the time.

I haven't checked out GLOW yet, that will be up next! I cheated and did a quick google search though ;)

SWMBO and I just finished watching Game Of Thrones again to touch up before the new season starts!

Schemy, I also live in Omaha and briefly looked at your clubs website. I'm a total rookie but am extremely interested in learning more. What are the clubs policies on letting in newbs? DM me if you have some spare time, thanks!

Falling Skies is good too

Just finished Falling Skies - excellent series! It took me a couple episodes to settle in and figure out what was going on and there were a couple episodes (including the ending) where I thought "That's just ridiculous!" but over-all it was a good study of humanity.

the BigHair and I have been sort of binge-watching The Ranch

it's not so bad, for a multi-cam sitcom

stars Ashton Kutcher, Danny Masterson, Sam Elliot, Elisha Cuthbert and Debra Winger (who looks DANG good for 62!)

along with Kutcher and Masterson, there are a couple of guest stars from That 70s Show; Fez & Mrs Foreman. a couple from 2 & 1/2 Men; Alan & Berta

other guest stars; Kathy Baker, Barry Corbin, Lou Diamond Philips, John Amos, Martin Mull, Ethan Suplee

laugh track is obnoxious, but easily ignored. like the story and the characters, plus it's a good kinda weird seeing the multi-cam sitcom dropping the F bombs

I cannot ignore the laugh track, it is terrible!

I agree. A friend at work missed out on season 2 after they dropped their High Speed Internet (And are on waiting list for wireless HS Internet) and so I checked it out on her recommendation.

The laugh track is obnoxious! I didn't realize how bad those things were. Used to be on most sitcoms when I was young.

Google Game of Thrones sitcom. They add a laugh track to some GOT scenes. It's pretty entertaining. (ok, mildly entertaining...)

Speaking of which, finally watched the first GOT episode this season last night. I liked it. Pretty much on par with most episodes, and I especially liked Arya's intro scene. And The Hound at that farmhouse. He's really become a favorite character of mine.

Just finished Sneaky Pete and can't wait for the next season.

I'm about 3 episodes into Orphan Black and it is kind of funny how similar the 2 are. Pete does it better, but I hope Tatiana Maslany made bank playing so many characters. It really shows her range as an actress.
