Don't waste your time with Frontier. It is terrible. Poor acting, writing, lousy accents and ridiculous plot twists. To top it off most scenes are shot in the dark and you can hardly see what is going on. It's only 6 shows. I watched 5 and I really don't know why. Ha!

I watched all the episodes, just to see if would get better. It didn't.

not on Netflix, but only 2 episodes in, I'm hooked on Legion

same creator who is doing the Fargo series, with 2 (so far) of the stars from that show

and Rachel Keller is so gosh darn cute.

FX only lets you watch for an hour without a cable subscription and the 1st episode is 68 minutes plus commercials (which also count against you). I was able to watch most of it on my lunch hour yesterday, then went home to finish it. I don't have the fastest internet at home, but 3 of us can all watch Netflix at the same time. FX must have the worst video compression ever though because the picture was barely watchable and it still kept freezing/loading. It took the full hour trial to watch the last 18 minutes.

But "cutting the cord" saves you SO much money!

I haven't had cable (DirectTV) for over 2 years now and it is the easiest $100/mo I've ever saved. When I first ditched cable, FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC and CW all offered free streaming content. Now several of them are asking for cable provider login or scrapping their streaming content altogether.

I've been having similar problems with Netflix as my wife and daughters are hooked on competitive cooking shows. Since Netflix failed to renew the contract with HGTV/DIY/Food Network/Travel, they have no content at all in that area now.

Just finished watching the Santa Clarita Diet. Very funny! Lots of one line zingers in that show.

I've watched 1 episode of that one; haven't decided if I'll watch the rest or not. I probably shouldn't judge it until the 2nd episode, but right now I'm still working on Breaking Bad (almost thru season 2)

If you have an Amazon Fire Stick, those networks have free apps.

FOX, NBC, CBS, ABC and CW still all broadcast the old-fashioned way

Stick with it! I felt the same way until probably about the 2nd or 3rd episode then found it quite comical.

we really dug Santa Clarita Diet. not huge laughs, but yeah, some of the dialog is really witty, always has me chuckling

and Breaking Bad just gets better and better as it goes. so many things arc back to earlier episodes over a season and later seasons arc back to earlier ones. and you're surprised where things end up, but you can understand how they got there. doesn't seem forced. (unlike Lost, where 3 seasons in, the writers were "oh, SH*T! we have no idea where we're going, let's just come up with weird sh*t and see if people buy it")

and then, continue with Better Call Saul, which I think has the potential to be better than Breaking Bad. it may not end up better, but as good as it is, it is well worth watching. Season 3 premieres April 10

If I had some way to record broadcast, that would work but broadcast TV just doesn't fit my schedule. I am spoiled on watching what I want, when I want.

so am I, which is why I shell out the bucks for my Fios & DVR

but even that puts limits on my watching. can record/watch only 2 programs simultaneously, so I can't record ABC, NBC and CBS all at once. not that there's that much on the Big Three in general and never something on all 3 at the same time. still. it's annoying I have to prioritize to avoid rescheduling and even then sometimes it says it WON'T record something because of conflict, but still records the part that isn't. sofa king annoying.

they do have new boxes out which can record some godawful number like 12 at a time, but that means giving up the 90 hours of programming I have yet to watch on my current box

Like Suburgatory, Season 3 (which we recorded in anticipation of watching S2 on DVD, then S3 off our DVR). But S2 & S3 will probably NEVER be released to DVD/Netflix/Wherever, so S3 will sit on my DVR until alien archaeologists excavate my house sometime in the year 52017. at which point they will all develop insanely huge crushes on Jane Levy (or Jeremy Sisto. we don't know how the aliens roll. not that there's anything wrong with that)

Try out Sling TV they have all those channels for $20 and usually you can find some special that will give you a free ROKU or something similar.

We are hooked on the 100 right now!

Checked out The Detroiters last night. Kind of funny. Only watched the Pilot, so maybe it gets better, but it's like Detroit's version of It's Always Sunny, but not quite as good, IMO.

The 100? Wow. I like the premise, but man, the writing is sooooo cheesy.

My issue with The 100 is that it is just too tense/depressing, especially Season 2.

I really like Travelers though, and I just realized that Doctor Who is on Amazon now and released a season that I haven't seen.

I watched about half of season 1. I found the dialogue and some of the plot lines and situations to be cliche and eye roll inducing. I may watch some more if I am bored, but most likely not.

My 14 year old son and I watched Travelers. We enjoyed it although I think it got a bit out of control in the last episode. We will watch the next season to see how it shakes out, though.

Just watched the second episode the other night. Its a great show and keeps me laughing for sure. Also great to see the locations they film and the memories it brings back :)

Did Pablo Escobar really smoke that much dope? He's sparkin up in damn near every scene.

Most likely, but it was probably viewed more like cigarettes and maybe easier to get (then cigarettes). I'm sure it was probably low quality compared to what the kids are smoking these days from the dispensaries.

Mile Brigbigli "Thank God for Joke"

Started watching Breaking Bad last night. Took a long time to finally check it out, but I had high hopes.

Had... high hopes.

The first episode and I was about 1/3 the way through before I was begging myself to get up and go do something. Maybe it was the mood I was in last night, but I didn't see anything about the show that I could find appealing. Not sure how the rest of the family enjoyed it. Not sure I want to try any more or not.

It's pretty bad when you are asking yourself if the dishes are done, and can I use that as an excuse to stop watching.
