My tentative recipe for a five gallon batch is as follows:

13lbs Maris Otter
1lb crystal 20
.50lb crystal 60
.50lb crystal 120
a ladle of coffee malt(about 2oz)

I stock my grains so I'm not going to buy a grain bill, but I do have others to choose from if anyone has any suggestions. Does this look like it will have that deep copper color I'm looking for?

Munich malt would help with an orange-ish/red hue as would as ounce of two of black patent, chocolate malt, Special B etc. with the grain bill that you posted above.

i used some munich, c-80, and roasted barley for a SRM of 13.9 - not too brown, not too orange.
this is the recipe i built, feel free to copy it. ;)

10 lbs maris otter
1.5 lbs belgian munich
1 lb victory
6 oz crystal 80
2 oz roast barley
2 oz acid malt, for RO water
8 oz table sugar (in last 10 mins)
1 oz chinook 60
.5 amarillo, .5 cascade 30
1 oz ahtanum 10
.5 amarillo, .5 cascade, flame out
1 oz cascade, dry hop
wlp 007 1.5 L starter, @ 65 for 21 days.

+1 to using a little black patent malt.

Something else to consider is using some Red X malt, which might add some red color. I haven't used it but others have and have had positive comments. I don't have any suggestion as to how much to use.
