My wife and I inherited a farmhouse in southwest France and are remodeling it. We're about 1.5 kilometers from the village, a nice walk. In the village, beside the 1000 year old church is the Bon Intent, a small bar for residents of the village. Your card unlocks the door, and you go in and serve yourself. In the evening there's usually an admin, but not always. When you pour a beer or open a bottle of wine, you log in with your name, the time, and what you bought. Then you drop your money into the slot that goes into a lockbox in a locked cabinet(trust only goes so far). The beer comes from a nearby microbrewery, the wines are all local. People bring bar snacks to share, it's very relaxing.
