So I got my French press delivered today and I'm wondering what the best way to spice my pumpkin ale would be. The beer has already been kegged and carbed.

Would it be wise to draw done beer off and use that with the spices in the French press?

If so, would I heat the beer at all to help with steeping the spices?

Any info is appreciated.

I use my French press to make hop tea when the hop flavor/aroma fades in my kegs. I just put the hops in the press, add hot water from my hot water tap (approx. 175 degrees) and let it sit for an hour. I then press, open the keg, pour it in, close the keg and purge it with CO2. After 24 hours, its good to go.

I don't know if that will work with pumpkin spice, but I don't see why not.

If you wanted to impart a little additional flavor maybe you could use spiced rum? That may or may not go well with your pumpkin spiced beer.
