First time dry hopping. Used a nylon bag with 2oz of pellets. I sanitized 10 glass marbles thinking that would be enough to hold it down. Wrong!

Question is do I try and pull it out and add more weight or will it floating up there be enough to infuse the aroma? Also kinda worried that the hops that are above the surface may start to go bad. Looking for advice.

Thanks

I usually let them float free and give them a little push with a big stainless spoon every few days. But I'd suggest more weight if you don't want to open your fermenter.

I let my hops swim but for this batch I would just leave it to prevent playing with your beer and take your experience as learning for the next batch.

I usually add hops to my secondary fermentor first, then rack on top. Most of the time they mix in well. If not, I just lightly rock the fermentor to mix it up.

I've never read a convincing argument that it's necessary to sink your dry hops. I'm not saying there isn't one, but I've yet to find it.
