Herro everyone! Just wanted to share a pic of my first home-brew 3 gallon batch (hence the headspace in the carboy). It's a recipe based off a Ska Brewery Pinstripe clone.

A special thanks to maffewl, who without his guidance, I would have made something the CDC would have send the haz-mat guys out to get lol.

I won't be able to answer any technical questions right now about the beer because 1) I left the recipe over at maffewls :p 2) I have no idea what I'm doing lol and 3) I'm at work and gotta get back to the grindstone. I'll try and update in the future. Adios amigos!

3 gallon batches are for girls, btw.

Can you at least tell me what temperature that Krausen is :p

That would be me who suggested he try a 3 gallon batch to get his process down (which also kept the therm strip above the wort level). Now, I told him you guys on HBT are a nice group... don't scare him off after his first batch. ;)

Congrats on your first batch! Looks like you are on the right track to becoming obsessed like the rest of us!

Keep us updated on how the beer turns out!

I ensured I would not be taken seriously by including a pink smiley w/ tongue after my comment. ;)

Seems like a sound idea for the 3 gallon batch and it seems like he did a great job. Looks damn good in that carboy already!

Scoot, I am actually not familiar with Pinstripe... what made you want to do that as your first brew?

Because it's a tasty brew out of Southwestern Colorado!

Next batch you should step it up and get a Scootypuff Senoir.

Yep it is a tasty brew indeed! My family and I went to Durango,CO this past summer and I visited the Ska Brewery. Extremely cool place. And yes, maybe one day I'll step up to "The Doombringer" lol. For now the picture attached is a fair representation of me at homebrewing.

I literally lol'd at that pic.

Hah, I never made it out to Durango, but a couple of friends and I made the hike out to Pagosa Springs (an hour east of Durango) from South Fork and found it on tap at a local pub. We also found the Pagosa Springs Micro Brewery and needless to say, after a few of those, the hour and half trip back through Wolf Creek pass was interesting, and rewarding. Thanks to some liquid courage and a tool box, we brought home some roadside souvenirs.
