Bunch of ******* meatheads.
Why does your citrus have a nipple?

No announcement.

My source says they have been doing trial batches the last month or two and they settled on it today.

Maple Pecan Guajillo. They have 100 barrels that held maple syrup.

Of course:
"I'm not sure it's set in stone. But I'm pretty sure it is."
PASS.

But can we start a rumor that there are different batches with different types of chiles? ISO Maple Pecan Ancho FT Maple Pecan Pasilla.

Well, November is a long ways off. Plenty of time to change my mind.

That being said, assuming next fall is an order of magnitude worse than last, I'll be happy if I get Coffee - Prop can get in line.

Everything released in Lime-a-Rita sized cans. Sold in the Bourbon County Mix Pack for $50. Except the Chipotle Hot Sauce Pecan Pie Breakfast Stout, which will run you $60.

I'm a bit surprised they're adding a chili-type pepper on a mass scale. I tried some of the rejects for the original Prop, one being Serrano Pepper (the others were Mint and Orange something, both were gross) which was awesome, but they were a bit skeptical that the masses would've liked it.

They've done straight up pepper bourbon counties in the past (ghost pepper I can remember, maybe others) that I dug but a guijillo chile is super mild. But a mild pepper'd stout wouldnt be liked by the masses? Like huna? lile abraxas?

The masses don't buy things because they like it - they just get in line 12 hours ahead of time and then complain about how little of it they got.

Taste is secondary (or tertiary... or whatever the fancy word is for 4th, 5th... 10th). No one actually drinks these things!

I was curious if there was some sort of unknown inspiration for that flavor combination so I typed "Maple Pecan Guajillo" into Google. This topic is the 3rd result.

If this is a #newmoney rube detector, I will gladly trade my pride for having been taken in.

Laffler did the Ghost Pepper back when he ran the Innovations Program. He also did Mexican Hot Chocolate many Stout Fests ago which had Cayenne (or at least I think). I can't think of any other pepper versions besides those and the Serrano although who knows what they've done the past couple years that never hits past a few test blends.

Many moons ago I had an Ancho Chile version at a Goose takeover at Acre. To me it was basically BCBS with a little heat at the finish. Nothing special.

I really liked that Mexican Chocolate BCS.

And, what do you know? Something useful via CCBE:

Goose Island tap room planning for tours, rare beer

Further commentary from Josh Noel:
Three other Goose notes: 1) The brewery is working on a draft-only 312 Wheat cucumber/mint/lime shandy for this summer. They were pouring two versions yesterday, one that tasted a bit more like pop (or soda if you must) and one that tasted a bit more like beer. They're deciding which one to go with. 2) In the next few months, Goose plans to release a 5ish% golden coffee ale called Fulton Street Blend that will be bottled and available through the Midwest. Liked it quite a bit. Hopefully the quality survives being scaled up. 3) Lastly (and most interesting to most people) is that the brewery is working on a barrel-aged stout that will be available year-round, but it won't be part of the Bourbon County family. It's still probably a year away from fruition.

Ahhh...yeah, I forgot about that one. I remember having that at Sheffield's for a BCS takeover way back when. I wasn't a fan.

Apparently WLV has a cask of Cuvée Alex Le Rouge tapped for pours from 1-4 today. I'm not familiar with this one, so my question is this: is this the sort of thing people line up & crowd the store for, or would I still be able to pop in, pick up some ****, and continue on about my business?

1) not a bottle release, no trade value, #newmoney doesn't care.

2) #newmoney have never heard of BFM or cuvee.

Unless there a few people who drink the majority of the keg I have to imagine it will last hours, or days.

Good points. I'll drive by, it's on the way to goddamned Toys R Us anyway, which is stop #2 in my afternoon of errands.

Also, this is the first time I really looked at your avatar...I didn't realize Iris was a three-penis lambic!

Glad I went - busy but not crowded, great chat as always, and really nice cask stout.

Hey, powz87 I was at Rock Island on Friday night and some dude swore you invented the "New Money" phrase.

While I know its not true, I want to send a kudos for making peeps so mad.

"That fat mother ******" was also uttered in regards to you.
Haha. I know zero people in rock island nor have I ever claimed to have started "new money." I have been referred to as a fat ****** before though. Are you 100% postive that it wasn't just you? I didn't know there was anyone in rock island that drank craft beer.

Edit - how was Iowa and thanks for stopping I'm assuming you drove right down 88

Hey all, long time lurker, first time poster.

Just wanted to let people know that I have come to grips with my slow down in trading which means I have about 4, 12 bottle styrofoam shippers I am looking to dump. Anyone who wants them, just let me know. I live in Downers Grove and don't feel like driving too far and I am not asking for anything for them just a bottle of your favorite shelf beer.

Also, on the BCS Rare front, did anyone else hear 2016 and a special bottle?
