It just occurred to me: it's quite possible the CBE guy probably decided that, instead of drinking his old-ass Hopslam down and learning not to let his eyes get bigger than his stomach next year, he'd rather try to turn lemons into lemonade by knowingly selling or trading past-its-prime beer to some sucker.

I'm not a CBE member...hopefully someone else called him out.
Not caring for it =\= past its prime

This is still the king of overpriced BA Rasputin stories (Seattle, not FIB-land):

The pretentious hipsters involved really up the douchiness of acting like your hot **** by getting way overcharged for a mediocre bottle of beer.

Step 1. Open a bar within a block of these people
Step 2. Mark up things 1000%.
Step 3. Watch them come in and order a $150 bottle of... Black Butte Anniversary? Sure.
Step 4. Read "Have you ever had a $150 beer?" article from my newly purchased private plane.

the ****** thing is that regular-ass old raspy is one of the best deals in modern beer. $8-$9ish for a 4 pack of a world class RIS is nuts. it's too bad that the BA version is so ridiculous.

Plank Road Tap Room is tapping Blushing Monk on Saturday night way out west here for anybody interested. Last I knew Abrasive was still on tap too. Fairly confident I'll be able to make it out after 8 or so. Us locals usually show up with something interesting to share as well.

would this make CCBE implode?
