Just grabbed multiple cases of Enigma at the most popular fib stop in Kenosha. Guy behind the counter said it won't last until the weekend.

I'd agree with this. Had it a couple weeks ago and it's definitely gone downhill.

You mean you guys don't recommend aging it for another 21 years until your son named Henry is of legal drinking age to share it with?!

I'd assume soon. It's still turding it up in local shops and Binny's.

Wait, you can get growlers of coffee Eugene?!? May have to make time for city trip. ****.
Yeah, I always thought you could get growlers of anything at the taproom? Maybe I'm wrong...

Can confirm - or, I mean, that's what I've head, too.

But I think the tap room is out of Straightjacket. Should be easy enough to find in stores, though. stxSS07 , are you heading to the tap room or brewpub? Can help direct to nearby spots for SJ if needed.

Kedzie (tap room?). Never been to the other one...horror stories are enough to scare me away.

Beermenus sufficient? Or do I need dat insider info? Have no idea how beer works anymore.

Other than Beer Temple, I can't think of any stores in the immediate area. There's a Mariano's on Western and Belmont that may have it. Otherwise, I think you're fine with Beermenus. If you can swing by a Trader Joes, head there - likely your cheapest option.

Thanks!

Also, the brewpub isn't always a shitshow. Late afternoons, after the lunch crowd and before dinner, are okay even on weekends. The food is solid, too.

But the tap room - also a likely shitshow most Saturdays - is close to Honey Butter and Thank You - and you could get smalls and Dante's delivered, so...

I'm just going to be swinging through around 2pm after an appt for a grab n' go. Haven't been there on a Saturday in about a year and it was always empty-ish back then besides the bus tour crowd....why da change?

West Lakeview bought a ridiculous amount of Straight Jacket this year. I'd be shocked if they didn't have any left.

Word got out? I think the city at large realized it's a great place - probably got mentioned on thrillist or something. Also, they're selling anniversary party tickets with no service fees. There will be food trucks on site and bands, too, I think. Could be an extra ****** shitshow Saturday.

Just drove an hour down to Two Brothers to pick up a keg of Sidekick and when I got home and hauled it upstairs I realized this **** was kegged in October! What the ****! I could have gotten fresher beer at the ****** corner store by my house for about the same price per ounce. I'm driving back to return it tomorrow because no way I am shelling out $85 for a 1/6th of old pale ale. Am I overreacting getting pissed about this?

Sidenote: I was at Rev last weekend and they had Straight Jacket on tap but no bottles. They were doing Coffee Eugene growlers though.

Wait a minute I am a god damn idiot for buying this keg no wonder it sat around for 4 months. $85 for 4 and a half six packs!? When did kegs become more expensive than individually canned beer? Even the Half Acre keg is $65 for 5 4-Packs.

I can't walk into a store in the greater NW side/Niles/Skokie area that doesn't have SJ sitting on the shelf. Even with a Limit One sign.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I wouldn't want to sell a 3-4 month old pale ale. So hopefully you get something fresher if you bring it back.

but just to make you feel better about your value, your math seems to be off by a factor of 2:

a 1/6th barrel is 1/6 * 31 gallons = 5.16 gallons or 660oz
four and half 6-packs are (4.5)x(6)x12oz = 324oz
five 4-packs are (5)x(4)x16oz = 320oz

so a 1/6 barrel keg is actually 9.16 six packs or 10.31 four packs

(happens all the time because full kegs are often referred to as barrels when they are in fact just half barrels (15.5 gal))

Do you even math, bro?

Should have just stopped there.

I did it the lazy way and googled how many oz in a 1/6 keg. I was lied to!

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+many+oz+in+a+1/6+keg
a keg is a half barrel..... so you googled one sixth of half, and got 1/12 of a barrel.
