as someone who has never been to cascade but have had a couple of their beers, what's wrong with them? is it something not to do with the beer?
Cascade Barrelhouse in Portland is actually pretty nice. A cool indoor/outdoor space. Plus all their crazy sour beers are available in 3 oz pours. Perfect for a Cascade beer. I very much enjoyed the brewery.

Is anyone going to that Festivus Barrel thing at Riverview tomorrow? If not, I'm thinking about posting about it on CCBE - the wife & I want to go to the Lagunitas taproom tomorrow, maybe I can send the crowds to the opposite side of town.

New money doesn't **** with Lagunitas. You're fine.

So I was dreaming about going to the temperance beer release last night. So I'm taking it as a sign. Why can't I just dream of sex or old ALF reruns like a normal person...stupid beer.

Freaking alf from melmac eating cats. That show was awesome

General PSA:

Very happy to see DESTIHL Dosvidanya on shelves. Picked up a bottle, expecting the sweet nectar to be as amazing as I remember from Stout Fest many years ago...and it was infected. So so sad. Could be just the one bottle, but in any event, buyer beware, especially at $16.99/500 ml.

Until I hear good things from numerous trusted sources, i'm avoiding the **** out of their packaged beers. As good as their stuff is on tap, I am convinced they are canning and bottling in a sewage treatment plant or something. Everything on the shelf from them is outright bad.

1920 rocked my socks off...

Lizard King was right yesterday at Longman. May sneak over there again today.

They also had a baltic porter on nitro that they brewed with goose. **** was aged in their hand selected 21 yo weller barrels and was ***** sprinkles.

Did Temperance have either of the released beers on draft? I'm curious how they are. Next time someone a bottle please let me know.

Anyone here try Rum BA Norde at HA yet? I'm contemplating a trip up there this weekend to try it. I usually dislike rum BA beers, but Norde is for real.

Very curious as well because I love High West 36th Vote (the barrel aged Manhattan barrels that the Manhattan Might Meets Right was aged in). Really contemplating an ISO. Was going to make the trip but didn't want to wait in line forever and put up with the usual bottle release mess.

Agreed. Aside from the potential for lines I was really curious if they're worth $20 and $25 a bottle. That's pretty steep for a bomber of beer no one was ever tasted before. Lotta of blind faith taking that plunge.

My thoughts exactly...drank an IPA and made super bowl chili instead. I feel I still won
