Seriously, these Hunter for Hunter offers are getting so damn ridiculous that they're hilarious?
Doesn't 18th St. keep re-brewing them? Why not just wait for the next one?
Can't wait to see the release and aftermath for the BA versions...

The Hunters are all incredibly mediocre, but BA Coffee Hunter at Stout Fest last year was top notch. I might actually go down for that one.

I was at stoutfest and had pours of Hunter, Hunter Coffee, and Vanilla Hunter. I don't remember any of them being BA. Were all of them, or just the coffee?

I thought the regular Hunter they were pouring that day was best.

all of them were BA. and the regular BA hunter was the best for me.

honestly i'm shocked and surprised that the bangers and lace cbs tapping on mlk day went totally unnoticed by ccbe; i saw someone make a reference to it on wlv's instagram feed (while they were doing hide and seek), promptly texted my friend who works at bangers who confirmed the rumour, and bam, went after work, got a seat right at the bar, paid entirely too much ($10/6 oz!), but happily paid the premium to not have to fight #newmoney shoulder to shoulder.

Definitely not knocking the beer itself and I bet the BA version will be pretty good. I've enjoyed the couple I've tried enough.
I can't even figure out why I find the offers hilarious. Maybe cuz there's just so many of them and its a bomber of milk stout? Just makes me scratch my head when bottles last throughout the day when released.
#NewMoney gonna #NewMoney, I guess.

Revolution's newest IPA, Civil Disobedience, is the ****. 7.7% and it tastes like liquid candy. Heavy dry-hopping with Citra and Galaxy is my guess with a decent bitter finish just the same. Good stuff.

Less good is this weird old couple sittig next to me in the brepwub. Totally wasted and they keep making out. Gross.

There is a BCBS tap takeover at Flo & Santo's in the South Loop tonight that I heard about earlier from a friend. Thought I might of had a low-key gem tonight. No CCBE reference all day, then of course they come through 30 mins ago as always.

Like a pimple on your ass that won't go away.

That's my neighborhood spot. It was pretty low-key, actually, despite them raffling off bottles of 2010 and 2014 Vanilla and 2014 Prop.

2014 Prop, Vanilla, BW, and reg on tap. Prop and Vanilla are both way better on tap than the bottles I had. The S'mores pizza was still better than both.

My buddy that went won a Prop. Sounded like it turned out great. I got hung up at work and am still here. Might drink all the crappy extras that have accumlated in my bottom desk drawer in one big room temperature coovie then puke, and use that as a reason to go home.

IN.

crimson snapper is...okay. decided to ride the pipeworks hype train because it was there and i didn't have to chase or anything, but i wouldn't buy it again. best pipeworks i had semi-recently was nelson on tap at logan arcade. it's no alpine, but it was solid and at a lesser price point i would crush it into oblivion.

Hunter 4 Hunter is definitely the "Post of the Quarter".

Some guy came over to RateBeer Chicago Metro graveyard and essentially started begging for a Vanilla.. that he missed the release even after he set reminders, alarms, and everything.

Tell him to come over here and make a "NillaHunterPlease" account and use a lot of hashtags.
Seems like that works.

Except no one outside of #newmoney and FIBS know what Vanilla Hunter is. #Newmoney is to busy hoarding hunters or trading them for other hunters and the rest of either didn't purchase it or purchased it, drank it and self-loathed about how it would have been wiser to buy a 6-pack of Eugene instead.

Somehow my Carton Brewing connection knows what it is too and wants one in exchange for some of that sweet, sweet sounding Regular Coffee they make.

I have no idea why folks want to drive all over Chicagoland to swap bombers of the same beer just for a different adjunct flavor. That said, I had one of the Hunters on draft then I had Sump right after it. The Hunter was better to me based on roundness of the flavors and mouthfeel. Tastes are different for everyone, but I've met enough people that I respect the opinions of that also think the Hunters have been very good. There's a ton of crap beer in Chicagoland turding up shelves. It's not this brewer's fault that folks on a social media website do weird things with his beer.

It's not De Garde's fault that jerkbags trade their beers at 8 times market price and hoard them. It's not Side Project's fault that their locals don't want any of his sours to get outside of a 5 mile radius. Are all these things frustrating, odd, etc? Sure, but let's make sure we keep the blame on the consumers and not the breweries.

What makes it funny to me is that the variants are all relatively mediocre beers but with the amount of trades it's popping up in, you'd think it was the blood of christ. You can literally walk into almost any decent bottle shop and find superior milk stouts collecting dust on the shelves.

Speaking of **** that's in way too many trades, can we talk about Madagascar for a minute? I'm fairly certain that 99% of CCBE had never heard of it until last weekend. Now the hype floodgates have opened and you have people offering prop for it. SMH.

I'm assuming the new batch (even though #newmoney doesn't know this is a new batch) must actually be good. The one at Stoutfest tasted like fake vanilla and had zero barrel. Or #newmoney is just buying it because Vanilla and Bourbon barrel, yo.

i kinda want to post fake but plausible sounding beers FT on CBX and see what offers i get

FT: purulence b2 ISO: hunter vanilla x2

This has some serious potential. I could picture some new money thinking that Purulence Batch 2 is ultra rare since there's no info online about it. Personally, I thought the first batch was better and I'd be willing to throw down a whole Dino Smores 4 pack for another bottle.

Edit: I could also picture someone like JEG becoming all flustered that something so notable was flying under his radar. ****, he might even offer up some ultra rare Schramm's mead FT.
