Anybody have any insight or preference on local beercades? Bachelor party afternoon festivities for a buddy sound like they're starting at either lakeview HQ or wicker park emporium. Figured I'd ask around.
The LOGAN emporium! its much better

Treebs how many people messaged you asking "what liquor store?" on CCBE after you posted that haul of BCBS variants?
came here to congratulate Treebs on his well done trollingz.... or to punch him in the dick if he's somehow srs

Hi - I know you don't know me, and you are PM'ing the store location to those you do.

I live in Addison and work in Streamwood. I've been trying to hit every liquor store between the two and have had no luck at all (unlike you!!)

Trying to get my hands on Prop and Vanilla Rye.

Probably the laziest troll job I've done. It's just a recycled picture from a few months ago.

This is by far my favorite CCBE troll job. It was so grandiose and ridiculous, but it worked.

Are they really doing that though? Legit question, I haven't noticed one way or the other.

from what i have read, yes, they are. whether their intent is malicious and intended to manipulate the trade market, i'm not sure. but i do know that at least one major tg employee is an active participant in the trade community and could be (i'm not saying that they are) doing so deliberately.

As far as "messing up bottle counts" and so on goes, I don't really see that as a negative because the trading game is getting way too obsessed with "X bottle count aged in Y barrels" and anything that throws a wrench into that kind of calculus is actually welcome in my opinion.

yeah, bottle count obsession is part of why i no longer try and chase the latest everything, because it's a losing proposition for me. i hate it as much as you do, but it's a reality and has been a reality for years, and i don't see it changing as long as people value beer like pokemon cards.

My point was more about how they could even be "manipulating the market" when the market for these beers was pretty much crazy from minute one. I mean, it couldn't have been more than an hour between when the news of the KBBS release leaked out and the tidal wave of ISO: KBBS posts that hit BA, Facebook, etc. all trying to out-do each other.

putting x/300 on the bottle could have something to do with it.

A lot. It's the #newmoney calling card.

You or maximthegreat could have left it up a little longer.

Will do. The trade offers I'm getting are equally hilarious.

"Hey man, if you won't share the location of your secret spot would you trade that King Henry for a BA Old Rasputin?"

Lol. But seriously if you don't want BA Raspy how about some 50/50 Eclipse?

Oh, they were a part of the list. I just found that one hilariously egregious.

Edit: Just got the "My wife and I just had a son named Henry. Please help" PM.

"Just got into a car accident and my car was damaged from running over Bramble bushes while drinking coffee and listening to NPR. Please help."

Twist: #newmoney is thinking about cellaring said King Henry (if he acquires one) until his son is of age to enjoy it....
Maybe he's trying to teach his kid that beer tastes like ****? "Oh, you think you like beer? HERE! DRINK THIS 24 YEAR OLD BARLEYWINE IN FRONT OF ME AND SEE HOW MUCH YOU LIKE BEER NOW!"

If I ever have a kid, I'm gonna name him or her fou foune. I think it translates to something naughty but I need to get that ISO done. Who names their kid Henry in 2014?

Edit, someone used my ****** joke. Ok, how bout my little daughter blabaer?
