My phone call experience thus far is that no one knows anything about this Bourbon County thing except that they will get it at some point in the indeterminate future, in an indeterminate amount, which will be sold in indeterminate allocations, on an indeterminate date on the calendar for an indeterminate price.

Watch out, DeKalb booze establishments, because I am maybe going to buy BCBS from you at some point this year depending on several things that are unknowns. I'm expecting either enormous lines at 5 AM or Prop turding it up on shelves (because this is DeKalb after all).

Is anyone really surprised that stores will have a BCBS limit of "1 4pack regular, 1 variant" or "choose 2 variants and a regular 4pack"? We just spent the last few pages discussing the NYFRB **** show...err..I mean release. I'm not surprised at all by all these small BCBS limits. It f*cking sucks, but not surprised. It's the current state of Chicago beer.

I also think gone are the days of walking into a mom&pop shop and finding a whole case of a variant too. I hope a few people prove me wrong, but that's just my feeling.

Dunt , Treebs , and anyone else, I'll see you Sunday @ Transient where we can laugh/cry our BCBS sorrows away.

From what I could gather from Chris, renewal will be ~$150. What I dont know is how long we will have to pay it, what the "small bonus" will be if we pay in cash this weekend, how long it will last, or any other useful information we may need pertaining to the actual membership. After he buys his own brewing space, I say it's time to hire someone to handle communications with the outside world. All that Phish has rotted the brain.

That's a start. Thanks for doing some digging.

My two locals that put out Bourbon County early the last two years both said Friday. I'm guessing it won't be easy to get my annual case of regular.

Since 2009 the feral kitten has been fighting a fierce battle. The battles vary but the resulting liquid - dense black and laced with Dark Matter Coffee - laps the winner's circle each time. This year Big Hugs danced with death itself, tearing extended claws through darkness, a graceful gnashing of teeth, barrel rolling hard and fast towards your darkest cave of pleasure.

We will be releasing Big Hugs Imperial Coffee Stout on Sunday, December 14th at 11AM. The release will take place at the Lincoln Brewery, located at 4257 N. Lincoln Avenue. To keep everything in motion, we will have separate lines for cash and credit, Dark Matter will be on hand with warm caffeine and there will be sources of nourishment you can chew on. Additionally, the Tap Room will be well stocked with reasons to stick around for a few.

Big Hugs' Day is a favorite at the brewery. We all come together when we typically wouldn't be, in order to usher something dark and fluffy into your mouth as carelessly as possible.

If you're available, we'd love to see you there.

DETAILS:
  • 10% ABV
  • 22 ounce bottle $10.98 (limit 8 per person per day)
  • 32 ounce howler refill $10.98 (limit 2 per person per day)
  • 64 ounce growler refill $20.14 (limit 1 per person per day)
  • 16 ounce draft pour $7

I've seen two announcements from Revolution about Blue Gene being available at the brewery: one says it's being released 12/10, the other says it was released 11/19. Anyone have any ideas? I'll call later if not. It looks like a shitshow in distribution.
