In Oakbrook Terrace for work and drinking the Muddy at the hotel. Something named Gulliver's Pizza and Pub is next to the hotel. Go or no go? Need answer fast, I am fricking starving.
No idea. Probably better to go for a drive and find a real bar and pizza.

Heading down to Champaign this weekend and I was just checking out beer menus for the area. A new place, Crane Alley, has Iris Grand Cru on tap??? Will be checking out this location upon my arrival. I hope it lasts until then.
Rumor has it Destihl has a new sour IPA out. Not sure if only at Bloomington or Champaign or both.

New? Crane Alley was my go to as an undergrad and was the location that held the Champaign Urbana Craft Beer Club.

Even if its not on tap its a good spot.

Weird. I've never heard of and it never showed up on Beer Menus for me until just now. Figured it was a newish spot.

Crane Alley is across the street from Black Dog in downtown Urbana. Eat at Black Dog early and often. They have equally the best BBQ in the state along with Real Urban BBQ from what I've tasted. No clue about Iris, but Crane Alley always has great beer. Black Dog has a really nice selection as well while eating. Had Schlafly Pumpkin on tap last time I was down there.

Yeah, I've eaten at Black Dog plenty of times. I guess I was just not so aware of the surroundings and never noticed Crane Alley.

What are some go-to extras for Chicago folks? I just got embarrassed in a trade with a Michigan TBer, and I need to return the favor. Open to bombers, but thinking of solid 12oz bottles. And ideally not distributed to MI.

straight jacket can still be found on the shelf. anyone who scoffs at a straight jacket ain't worth trading with.

Anicca is still available at Half Acre and Heyoka just came out.

But yea, Strait Jacket would be a great choice, although I haven't seen any lately.

After 15 years, Goose Island Wrigleyville will be closing on Tuesday, September 30th, 2014. We have been operating on a month to month lease with our landlord since February 2014 with the assurance the lease would run through baseball season 2014. We are closing because we were not able to secure similar assurances that we would be able to operate through the 2015 baseball season. We want to thank our loyal customers for their support through the past 15 years and invite them to visit us at Goose Island Clybourn in Lincoln Park.

not liked

love to tailgate there before games... :(

Although could be similar posturing to what was going on with Clybourn earlier in the year?

I wonder how reasonable the rent is, and whether it's just GI always trying to be a hardcore negotiator as a reliable, stable tenant. I suppose the length of stay for the next tenant will be an indicator.

Did I read somewhere too that there had been future plans to open up a location on the river?

They're currently building a taproom on that property. I don't know if they have plans for a full-fledged brewpub, but we'll see.

Sucks, but I'm fine with it. As a season ticket holder, the couple of times I have gone in there before a game these last couple season, all the stuff I was excited to try already kicked. Maybe it's just because it was always a Sunday, but still, I'm way more willing to just make the walk to Sheffield's.
