Oh cool, they let you buy 50 tickets at a time if you'd like!

Am I reading the WLV info correct that it's $50 for the Zwanze glass, sampling and 2oz pour of Florian?
That's how I'm reading it. Though, honestly, that's still a solid deal for what you in theory could try.

Of course, I won't be attending because I don't want to be squashed by drunken, bearded men every time a new thing goes on tap.

Totally agree it would be worth it if you can take advantage of the sampling. Just want to make sure to have enough cash in case I can swing it. Unfortunately it's not looking too good...:(

$50 for glass and unlimited draft pours (save zwanze or other particular exceptions) is how it's been for at least the past two years, and with no language changes, i assume that will carry this year.

i won't be attending because i recently bought a kegging setup for homebrewing and while the bottle share is bound to be ridiculous, i just can't justify spending that kind of scratch right now.

If Velvet Merkin is your jam, I just picked some up in DeKalb/Sycamore. Knew it'd release around now but I assume it's currently available throughout the western suburbs. Guy said he just had it delivered last night.

With Zwanze and all, did any folks get to the Urban Block Party? If so,did they pour the "cassia" Proprietors or dat coconut? How was the 2014 Coffee compared to last year's?

I went with wife. I don't know what cassia Prop is, but the one they poured had very little if any coconut. I really enjoyed the 2014 coffee, felt it wasn't as harsh with the coffee as 2013 was fresh. 2013 had mellowed out nicely.

Very light crowds early on, but lines started to build for each successive half-hour tapping. The good part was that after the initial line made it through, you could pretty much walk up with zero wait to get more, particularly as others started lining up for the next one. And GI was pre-pouring everything so it moved the lines very quickly.

Violet Hour oddly kicked before the initial line made it through. It was a sizable line, but I didn't feel like it was so many more people than for other tappings. Maybe just a smaller amount of it. I left after Buffalo Trace. Place was pretty packed by then.

I was told by 3 brewers last night the Prop 2014 hasn't been processed yet. Certainly no kegs to Milwaukee area bars....

Sorry. The blue wristband crew drank it all.

I think I had 4 pours of 2013 BCS. There was no line for it after 7:30 or so. Also got to try 2014 BCS Barleywine. While it was good, I think it was too sweet right now. Certainly no BCBBW 2013 out of the gate.

Was that VIP or something? Haven't had it before so a bit bummed wasn't able to try it, but was more than happy with the 3 pours each of Bramble and 14 BCBCS, among others.
Yea, Goose employees and their +1's got to drink for free and with no wait. I didn't show up until a quarter to 6 and I missed Bramble, but Backyard was tasting great. Cherry Rye, not so much.

Not saying you or your friends are wrong/lying, but I guess I'd be curious to know what Roman's was pouring that was very publicly advertised as Prop '14 (along with all of the Goose and/or Beechwood folks that seemed to be in attendance). I know GI probably has bigger issues to deal with, but surely the company wouldn't be too pleased with falsely advertising a beer like Proprietors. Surely they would have the local rep do something about it, considering he's probably within spitting distance of Roman's a couple of times a week.

Vibes to the folks that didn't make it to zwanze, I legitimately feel bad for you
My Saturday kicked ass. Attended Zwanze day with ApocalypseZombie Lefty Hyzer Sean9689 mjohnson17 cfrances33 rfraga7 hey5hitgoose and I know Dunt was in the area as well but didn't formally introduce myself... Bottle share was just off the chain, everyone so generous and friendly, not to mention the actual Zwanze was amazing as well. Surprised right when we got in with Apricot Fermier poured by Cory. Well organized, not too crowded, and easy enough to get a pour of what you wanted from the tent. Great job WLV and the food was great too!

Made it over the 312 block party after that with Don B and hey5hitgoose for more debauchery. Got my blue wristband (sorry BobCobb) and proceeded to wreck Bourbon Counties. Prop was '13 and still drinking fine. Also confirmed Prop '14 is indeed not ready yet. Coffee '14 is very similar to what '13 was, so everyone should be happy with that. Violet Hour and and Buffalo Trace were nice one offs and also spectacular. Heard that was the last Violet Hour Goose has, but I dunno if I believe that. Lines moved well and this event was probably a 1000% improvement to last year's mess. Food was good here too.

Both these events were top notch and honestly have zero complaints. Well done!

Great to meet you too Julian! Killer bottle share all around. Didn't even have time to go to the tents much with all the lambic being opened.

I think 2 of your Saturday checkins impressed me. Yawn.

Reps gonna rep? The 3 brewers I talked to all had a good laugh when I told them about Roman's.

Anybody crack into these Transient bottles yet? Just grabbed mine yesterday afternoon. Chris is a nice guy. He was brewing a belgian golden with Rude Hippo to be soured and aged with peaches when I stopped by. Can't believe how nice that wooden bottle holder is. Really glad I joined. Certainly plenty of bottles to go around as well. Snagged a couple each of the Brett beer and Honey Saison. No limits on those. He said the Brett is young (1.5 months) on both of those bottles, so he's interested to see how they develop.

Does anyone around the city have some shipping boxes you're looking to get rid of? Wife threw out some of mine and in need of a few at the moment (looking for a couple for 3-4 bottles and one for 7-8+) I would come pick up. Thanks!

I've opened all of them but the Red Wine Obelus. Everything seemed a bit young to me besides the Wild Turkey Betise which was pretty money out the gate. I'm not going to open another Transient bottle until the middle of 2015 so the flavors can develop some more.

Thank you sir. Chris said as much about the Brett beer and honey saison that maybe they could use some time. My general sweet spot on Brett seems to be in the 6-9 month realm from beers like Saison Brett, Saint's Devotion, etc. I'll probably let the farmhouses go for a bit, but that's why I got a few. Can't wait that long to crack something open. Maybe I'll start with the Wild Turkey and work my way down.

i sincerely hope that they wise up and start putting cross of gold in cans because i loooooooooove that beer and would buy cases constantly

Not before they put Red Skull in cans!! Seriously, they can just can all their beers and I wouldn't buy any other beers but theirs. Well not srs, but kinda.

In Oakbrook Terrace for work and drinking the Muddy at the hotel. Something named Gulliver's Pizza and Pub is next to the hotel. Go or no go? Need answer fast, I am fricking starving.
