New update from Transient Artisan Ales about the bottle release in a few weeks.

Transient Artisan Ales said:
Reserve Members,

I have a few important updates to the release event, which is 2 short weeks away, so please read this entire email.

Guests- Every reserve member is allowed to bring one guest to the bottle release. ONE... Also, if you are having a trustee pick up your allotment, please make sure you have previously named them as your trustee. If not, they will not be allowed into the event.

Identification- BRING YOUR ID!!!!! You will need it to prove your age and to pick up your allotment of beer as well.

Transportation- We have a decent size parking lot, and will be sending out a map of where you will be allowed to park in the next update, though carpooling is greatly encouraged. We will also have the fine people at Chicago Brews Cruise provide a bus leaving from the city for the event. The price will run somewhere between 20-25 round trip. Please respond to this email if you are interested.

Picking up beer after the event- Quite a few of you have already asked, so I suppose I should address it; if you cannot attend the event, your allotment will be available at One Trick Pony starting shortly after the release event.

Bears Game- Picking a date is difficult, as there is no perfect option for everyone. Sunday, September 7th was the best day available, though we know there are always going to be some complications. We understand several of you will not be able to attend due to prior arrangements, and others are concerned that the release coincides with the Bears' season opener. We are trying to arrange a solution for those of you who do not want to miss the game or the release. At the very least, we will have the radio playing the game, though we are trying to work out a TV...

Stay alert for future updates!

Have to assume that the guest won't be able to purchase any of the extra bottles that will be for sale right? Not sure if I'm even going to bother bringing a guest. It's damn near an hour and a half drive for me one way. Wonder how many bottles are included in the first release.

I haven't seen any update about what they're releasing.

Save the date, y'all - Revolution's Octoberfest party is set for Oct. 4
D'oh!
10.3.14 OKTOBERFEST PARTY AT REVOLUTION BREWING KEDZIE
I was off by a day! I don't mind the "early bird" pricing, though.

Also of interest:

We've been experimenting a bit at the Kedzie tap room. Our head brewer Jim Cibak and cellarman Marty Scott have been playing around with some of our brews these past months.

Marty says he and Jim took a few extra barrels we had on hand to steep in tasty ingredients to some of our existing brews, kind of a pre-barrel-aging program, if you will. These are extremely limited amounts, just a single half-barrel keg for each, so stop by and try it, but share the wealth!

On tap starting tomorrow 8/27 is a Eugene Porter with Dark Matter coffee and cocoa nibs. After that keg is gone, we'll have a Eugene Porter with raspberry and cocoa nibs (pictured). While these beers aren't meant to be widely released, they're something fun for you to try if you can!

Lastly:
Here are the release dates for the next month:

8/27 - Workingman Mild, our delicious English luncheon beer

9/3 - Loganberry, our summer wheat ale with lightly tart loganberries, &Red Skull, an imperial red ale (also available in 22-ounce bombers from our tap room and other retailers)

9/10 - Oktoberfest, our German-style Märzen lager. Available in cans again, too.

9/17 - The Whip, a biscuity and heavily dry-hopped wheat IPA

9/24 - Unsessionable, a brand-new, big, bad hop bomb. You can thank Jim for this one!

Did that coffee/cocoa Eugene get tapped today at Kedzie? Has anyone tried it?

Anyone get/try this new $50 bomber from Three Floyds that Facebook is all in a frenzy about?
I heard it's ok, but def not worth $50, and that Rue D'Floyd is waaaaay better. No instawhale, move along. Actually heard there were bottles left from last night and didn't even think twice about not getting them.
