You would think they would have figured out they need to set case limits by now?
I find it so odd and confusing, nobody went nuts when Enigma and Cranbic were released and this Oud Bruin is flying off the shelf. Either this is the greatest Oud Bruin ever created or you people are ******* nuts...
Post VSB syndrome...
A very small part of me hopes they release a clunker just to discourage people from making the drive for the next few releases.I can't wait until the low-key Great Taste bottle release like last year...
I may be late to the party on this, in fact I know I am, but it looks like Oud Bruin has come and gone at Woodman's in Kenosha already. This FIB missed it.
I'm not sure, to be honest. I know the brewery had it for sale since last Thursday. I think it just hit distro this week and a buddy said he first saw it in Kenosha yesterday. Apparently (and this isn't a confirmed fact), Woodman's Kenosha only got 45 cases.Hasn't it been out for like a week?

I think someone said it was sold out in Kenosha, but insider secret... Kenosha is only 10 miles into WI. There's actually a whole state with plenty more Oud Bruin just past it.
Haven't we annexed Kenosha and Racine yet like we did SW Indiana?******* lies.

You can have SW Indiana. You can have The Region while you're at it.
Can't find where ever I thought I saw this information. I'm probably wrong.
Here's hoping the release before the Great Taste is spread over a longer time period (Thursday-Sunday?) and the numbers are significantly higher than the VSB release. Still going to be crazy, but perhaps a fraction less so.

The store I was I yesterday in Milwaukee, a guy bought a case of Oud Bruin. I asked if he had tried it. He said no. I suppose I hope he likes it.
I'll be buying a case before I try it for the simple fact that I enjoy the style, I haven't had a New Glarus sour that I didn't like, and I trust Dan Carey with his product more than any other brewer in the world. Besides, New Glarus thumbprints make fantastic extras. However, I get your point.
I know a guy who purchased four cases without having tried the beer. It's all hype and hopeful trade value at this point.
The criteria is met. Time to buy as much as possible and flood social media with your greatness. Beer is for bragging rights, not consumption.
- Is it new? ✓
- Will the supply be somewhat limited? ✓
- Is there potential for me to look like a beer king if this is actually a good beer and holds some trade value in the future? ✓
