Dino S'mores out of the bottle was not nearly as good as draft batches from a while ago. Discuss.
Where'd you find some? Will this see a wide Chicagoland distribution? I'd like to try it.Dino S'mores out of the bottle was not nearly as good as draft batches from a while ago. Discuss.

Single bottles or 4-pack? AH Binnys can't sell singles. They had to turn down cases of BA Pipeworks... it made me sad since that's one of the few PW beers I've been looking forward to in the last 6 months.Des Plaines Binny's had it Saturday. Had to ask for it. Didn't check Arlington Heights

How is this batch of Citra Ninja? The first batch or two were awesome but I was a bit let down by more recent batches.

Found this in Montoro's review of it today. Wonder if that 3 month wait destroyed those fresh bottles? Sadly I missed out on the draft version and doesn't sound like I'll find bottles in the burbs.Phillip Montoro said:Off Color brewed DinoSmores in February, though it didn't ship till spring on account of a delay with its bottle labels and four-pack holders.
So... interesting. I'm guessing a licensing issue with the new facility? We like you. A lot. In fact, we like you so much that we have made a few changes to the upcoming Sunday Funday event for Chicago Craft Beer Week. The event is no longer a ticketed one, which means you get in free. It is now a private Goose Island party and you and a guest are invited. Not to worry – all purchased tickets will be refunded in full via Eventbrite. Please note that refunds can take up to 5-7business to appear in your bank account, depending on the bank.
And the great news? The beer’s on us. Yep, you read that right – entry is free and so are the drinks. It’s still going to be the same great Sundayfeaturing amazing beer, live music, dodgeball and mini golf - it’s just on us now.
Want to but... hockey.Anyone going to the GI 26th party tonight?
I think its just plan free now. That's the impression I get from the recent beer download pod cast. Also this link has a contest for VIP tickets and says it free.I got an email yesterday about some changes to the Goose Island Sunday Funday event:

ETA: And it looks like the event is now closed to additional guests?
The email clearly states it is now a free event for those that previously bought tickets and one guest. You must show proof you bought a ticket at the door and all the beer is free.I think its just plan free now. That's the impression I get from the recent beer download pod cast. Maybe people who bought before hand get upgraded to VIP and get free beer. Otherwise 3 bucks a beer? I doubt they will give free beer to everyone. Maybe GI just has a plan to upset the whole Lagunita circus event that's happening at the same time. A free event with free barrel aged beer vs. 65 bucks for 4 ok beers. That would be a bigger **** show than Darklord.

This is a “rain or shine” event. Beer Under Glass will be held entirely in our outdoor gardens this year, so please be prepared for the weather.
And the changes to beer week events keep a-comin'. For those of you heading to BeerUnderNext to Glass:
Scuttlebutt on the CBS listserv is that this fine print is a recent edition. Someone followed-up with the conservatory and this was their response (emphasis mine):Thanks for the heads up. I had not read the fine print that fine apparently. I assumed it would be the same setup as last year. Hopefully the indoor area is at least open for viewing.
Thank you for writing with your concern about the location of Beer Under Glass this year. Unfortunately due to extensive construction in the Conservatory to fix hail damage, many spaces in the Conservatory are not available for this event. We hoped to be able to use some of the space in the Conservatory to have a portion of the event inside and a portion outside as we have in previous years, but due to the uncertainties of construction we are no longer able to house any of the event inside the Conservatory. We apologize that the event will not be the same as past years due to these circumstances. The entrance to the event will take you through two of the interior rooms, which will stay open to allow for access to the bathrooms in the lobby of the Conservatory. We will also have a large tent outside for guests. We hope that with the extensive brewery and restaurant participation this year, it will be a wonderful event even if the weather does not cooperate. Please let me know if you have any questions.
In some defense of ticketed events, calling something a private, ticketed event does allow the organizer to skirt some laws that may otherwise prohibit a bar from selling/pouring beer from a particular brewery.CCBW is here and I don't care about the ticketed events, the over-hyped and under-delivering event, the KBS trappings that blow in 10 minutes events. I'm all about the non-advertised cool trappings that IMO used to make CCBW so great. I miss the days when you went into a neighborhood bar and they had a couple unique kegs on tap.
So anyone know/seen any of these yet? I'll come back here to post any I come across in my travels.
And there's an event like this one: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/beyond-the-brew-10-bbls-tickets-11512332697 . I believe the sours thing they ran a while back was very well-regarded.
I don't know what Kent has planned for that one, but he definitely tries to put on good events and takes pride in them.
I find it amusing Acre use to put on a Faux-BAB with no tickets and good prices per pour and this year Haymarket has "Mini-FoBAB" and is charging $55 a ticket for a list comprising 50% of their own beers, 25% shelf beers, and 25% actual interesting stuff.
