Speaking of FFF, has anyone tried Pillar of the Beasts? I grabbed a bottle while stopping in earlier this month on my way out of town (wanted some Gumball and ZD for fridge beers), planning to open it at a share in a couple of weeks.

It's good for what it is (very sweet adjunct barrel aged barleywine), and would be perfect for a share where you only want 2oz or so.

So I turned on the TV this morning and it was on the local NBC station in Chicago. They were in the middle of doing the traffic report and did an update on the line at Binny's. This was about 6:30 am and there were, by NBC's estimation, 950 people in line. They also reported that there were 1000 allocations available....

Thankfully for beer drinkers, there are only 2 or 3 beer styles out of a hundred or so that draw that kind of attention/craze/hype.

The fact that people who lined up at 3pm on Thanksgiving and the people who lined up at 7am this morning basically had the same outcome is principally part of why I skipped it this year (well, that and the fact that the lineup didn't impress me enough to drop $250 for a 12-pack allotment; I'd rather blow my wad on a few more Rev Barrel 4-packs).

Having said that, it does sound like Binny's did a MUCH better job organizing this event. I was in line last year and it seemed like Mad Max compared to this year.

My secret spot that I'll never reveal or give hints about only had regular this morning. I'm considering running against Brian Urlacher's brother to be mayor of the town under a platform of "MORE VARIANTS AND UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE."

Best year I had since 2014 for BCBS. Went to my local Jewel event at 3:30. Stood in line with a bunch of friends. Line was single file and chill. Started right at 7. Full allocation plus glass and book by 7:20 with a bottle of 2016. Really well done. I guess nobody went to the Binnys a quarter mile away until after Jewel so some of my friends hit that too. I went back to bed. No line cutting. No price gouging. Solid time.

Is Orange popular? I'm in northern MI seeing family. Went to the local Meijer at noon today with my parents for groceries. There were ~20 bottles of Orange turding up at $19.99, but all the regular was gone lol.
